Me and my mate went to Norwich last night, we usually go out in our local town but i sudgested something different.Anyhow we spent most the time chilling in bars talking and checking out the local talent, later we went off to a club.At the club we talked for a bit but then we hit the dancefloor we were just dancin havin a laugh etc then a couple of girls started dancing near us and one of them was starting to grind with my mate.Very quickly my mate become quite anxious to the extent he had to leave the dancefloor and ended up throwing up in the toilet.Basically when he gets anxious he just falls appart and frequently throws up. I don't really understand how to help him, he asks me but i cannot really relate to his problem.Apparently he has read books and has tried to understand his anxiety attacks because he says he wants to have fun with girls but he is terrified of them

Female Phobea

very odd, obviously he didnt grow up around an environment with alot of woman, you might want to get him more confortable wit hthem by just introducing him to one of your female friends.

Generally the treatment for phobias is desensitisation by exposure to the thing feared, so ThatGuy's idea is a very good one. Anti-anxiety medication can also help - the desensitisation process works just as well if you are on anti-anxiety drugs.

Been talking a bit about it naturally he is a little reluctant to give too much away. He was raised by his mum (his dad works away). Hes a really cool chilled guy but it seems as if its like he doesent really know how to be a man.
We went to the city tonight, in the most part he seemed alright but its definatly an issue for him.
I think he does make an effort to go out and desensitise to these situations though, he usually comes out with us and mostly its unnoticable, its only when a girl comes onto him he struggles and usually bails.
Thx for the ideas i'll pass 'em on!
