My girlfriend is on birth control and we want to stop using a condom. If we are both clean of disease, is it possible to still catch one if we don't use a condom? I know many couples who stop using condoms when the girl goes on birth control. Is it safe?

How you get a disease?
-
Yes. You can still get a lot of diseases, even with a condom. Herpes and Hepatitis to name two, crabs to name another.Condoms do not protect against infections spread from sores on the skin not covered by a condom (such as the base of the penis or scrotum). For those having sex, condoms must always be used to protect against STDs even when using another method of birth control.

all of my friends who have girlfriends stop using condoms after a while. Also, I'm sure married couples don't use condoms. Is it really unsafe?
-
It's safe if you know your partner isn't cheating.
-
It's not possible to catch a disease from your partner if your partner doesn't have it. So it depends how much you and your partner trust each other. I agree, most married couples do have that amount of trust.

I just wanted to point out also that if you stop using a condom, there's still slim chance your girlfriend can still become pregnant. Birth control is good, but it's not 100% percent foolproof.

Neither is a condom =/

If you are both clean and stay monogamous then there should be no problem. BC is safe, but BC + condoms are safer.
