ok I have this friend that use to be pretty chunky, now he's skinny and fit. He claims to not run or use a bike or anything, all he's done is go to the gym like every day for the pasts 2 years. I didnt think lifting weights and whatnot really made you lose that much fat, does it and do you think he's lying about the running?

Losing fat with running?
-
It's possible, but hsi CV is probably pretty bad.

Note the word probably.

He may be in great shape right now compared to previously. If he does no cardio then it might be a good idea to encorporate some of that into his routine. Don't think that weights will only give you strength and not improve your health though. Physical activity in general provides major benefits to the body. Now to maintain a healthy cardiac system it helps to do a bit of cardio, but your friend is very likely being truthful.

I just cant believe you can lose THAT much fat just from lifting weights and whatnot

Oh yea what ever gets you doing something and pumping your heart faster.
