I've been running a mile everyday for the past two weeks (and I plan to all summer) and the only real reason I stop running is because of really extreme pain I get in my lower/mid back. I only get it on the way back home and I was wondering if theres anyways to prevent it. I do run correctly, but I'm sure it could be caused by excess weight (im 5' 5'' 190 lbs.)Any exercises I should do to strengthen my back if thats whats causing it?
Backpain while running
How's your posture, running and not?

Be careful with the back pain, it's most likely just from not using your core muscles enough. Don't push it too hard and be sure to focus on keeping that upright posture and engaging your abs, hips, and pelvis to provide support to your upper body. It'll become something you naturally do over time, but many of us need to make it habit because we're so used to sitting around and not needing to use those muscles.

Just wanted to let you all know the pain has stopped. I followed all of your advice and the advice of my brother, who suggested that I work more on my back/ab muscles, he said it was because I was straining the back more than I should, I also fixed posture with my neck (I've had a series of neck injuries so posture hasn't come too easy for me) and I'm hypothesizing that once I lose my gut there shouldn't be any pain and I can start working on a six-pack :P
