Holy Crap this is the coolest looking Operating System I have *ever* seen, I can't wait to upgrade. Anyone else seen it/is upgrading to it?
I wonder if Microsoft is starting to get nervous, I would be.

I liked tiger anyway... Haven seen leopard yet. I like tigers y mac go and change the name…grrrrI wish I had got a mac instead of another cp. Windows is coming out with a new one too this year. I forgot wut paul told me wut it was called tho.
Wow, it does look good. But I'm still not gonna change to a Mac, I just can't stand those machines!!CR125: Windows Server 2008 is coming out this year but Windows Vienna (the next full OS) shouldn't be coming out until about 2009. Is that the one you're talking about?
paul was telling me his mom got a new laptop (i dk if it's a 07 or 08 / i asume it;s a 07 since it's 07.) and it had windows vista on it. he said there were more toys on it... he is goignto get it on one of his computers. i was thinking of maybe getting it but i'm gonna wait til after he has his to see wuts all new.. cuz i';m not going to go threw the money or trouble for just differnt look...... this is the link he gave me.. > Windows Vista
Oh I misread your post, I thought you said a newer OS is coming out later this year, sorry. Yeah Vista came out officially in January but I wouldn't advise you to get it yet. Its still got quite a few bugs in it so I'd suggest that you wait until the first service pack comes out. That usually fixes most of the problems, altho it took 2 editions of the service pack to fix XP.But Vista is really cool, it'll be even better when the first service pack comes out tho.
cool
God I hate Vista, it's such crap. I dunno, Since I'm using a Tiger and a Vista right now, side-by-side, the Tiger is better.
Ya just have to give Vista a chance, Tiger has been around for over 2 years, Vista hasn't even reached the 6 month mark yet.
You know the Mac Commercial where Microsoft has the Body gaurd asking to Accept/Reject ANYTHING YOU DO? It's like that. I hate it.
Yes, but haven't you heard? PC guy is really Steve Jobs!
I saw the preview of leopard. It's all eye candy to me, like Vista. They are both nice, though. However, my next computer will probably be another PC.
mac hatter... runs around (like a cat chasing it's tail)with a big pouting face paper sighn sticks out tongue
Not a mac hater. Just don't see the big deal about them. I mean, they are okay, but I don't see how they are better than PCs or vice versa.
Well, Leopard is going to operate entirely in 64-bit with 32-bit compatibility. Now, I don't know what that means exactly (plan to ask someone I know when I see them) but it's the first OS that'll do that. I'm still trying to think of how Time Machine works. It seems like you'd have to store everything on your computer constantly or something, which would take a lot of space if one is done each day. I hope they still keep the old blue desktop with the OS for a choice, cus I like to switch to that desktop style every once in a while.
With Time Machine you hook up an external drive, like a jump drive, it doesn't all store into your computer.
I was thinking that too, that storing every version of your files would take a huge amount of space, but on further thinking, nowadays most space in most computers is taken up with files that are rarely altered - movies and sound files and pictures that you download or create yourself in one piece. Except for people who do a lot of movie editing, keeping copies of all versions of a file probably wouldn't hugely increase the space needed.
It would be good if an OS were able to solve the problem of accidentally clicking "Save" instead of "Save As".
But if that's done once each day, that would take up a lot of space. Or does it only do it when you tell it to? That would still make it so that you might accidentally not back up your files in the time that you have a certain file and then end up having it disappear on you. Wouldn't you also need to purchase an external hard drive in order for it to work?
It could work if it only saved backups when files were deleted or altered, and noted the date and time each time.
Yeah, that's how I thought it would work when I first heard about it.
I already said, it woulds when you hook up an external drive. You guys can go look at the demo, if you want.
