Is there such a thing? lolI live 4 hrs from my closest family, and I like it like that. Every now and then I return to someone, because they are after all my family. Right? The only one that I get along with ALL the time is my real dad. Everyone else, it waxes and wanes. Mostly because if you don't fit the "little circle" there is something wrong with you. My Dad (stepdad, but still considered my best friend) is the only one with the balls to say stuff to your face, AND with the right tone and concern to help a person out, the others are just biting, or passive agressive, I HATE the games. I especially hate leaving the room just to hear shit about me that they won't speak up about, the judgeing from folks who aren't perfect either, who haven't been around for the last 15 years to REALLY know what has happened in my life....So, does anyone else have a "made up family"? I do, its my people where I live...and I am a ton closer to them than I could ever be to my real fam...

Hahahhahahaha. I don't even want to go into what my real father did. 0.o.....>.Anywho. I am close to my brother.. one of them. The rest of my family can take the short bus to hell for all I care!xD. My parents are more interested in treating the symtops. (me and my brother that I like) then curing the solution (the littlest brother that I don't like). My mom and dad would basically tell someone being castraited with a pair of pliers to stop yelling rather then stop them from being castraited. Just to give you some idea how how my parents work.Oh well. gunna be 19 soon.. off to college.. then leaving them behind. Oh well.. parents=paycheck.. xDYa know.. I saw a speech by bill cosby which I agree with about this.. he spoke alot about how parents bribe thier kids with stuff rather then teaching them to love unconditionally. Gotta say.. that sounds like my house.. I always got what I wanted.. I was never really bad to begin with.. I think I'm alright.. just my littlest brother is the only one messed up. Then again I think I was born with a level head and I'm probably the exception to the rule. I guess(if you believe someone can be given pretty much what they want and not turn out spoiled xD)Then agian.. I always had a brother breaking everything I tried desperately to keep in good condition to balance it out xD

It would also be interesting to know how old folks are posting these things. I'm 18, and my family is rather usual. My parents have been married somewhere from 25 - 30 years (even they forget ). My older brother saw all his friends' parents divorcing, and they would fight over their kids and give their kids all sort of things to make them love one parent over the other. My brother always wanted that, but apparently he wasn't lucky enough? I have a half-sister from a previous marriage of my father. I'm the middle child of us three brothers (half sister lives really far away, middle aged, married, has a kid who is one year younger than me!).The only thing anyone has ever pointed out to me that they think is slightly odd is that my mother is 50 and my father 66. Other than that, most people say I have a very fun family, despite them all being failures, fighting, rednecks. Though, all those things make me laugh my ass off when I think of them LQ

Looks like all sorts of ages. I brought it up cause I am outta town, taking care of my Grandmother's place. She knew I was comming broke,(I had just done a major camping trip with my man and all three kids and bought everything for my father to show up too) left me with $50 to buy all the perishable food items for me and 2 kids. My kid got a NASTY gash on her foot, and I needed more bandaging. I pulled into her driveway with an empty tank of gas. I ALSO, gave up two weeks of work to come up here. She said she would pay me. I also had to find someone to go feed my animals, and water my plants. I brought my dogs, but I live 11 miles from the nearest town, and it's tough to get someone to drive that far every/every other day.SO, I ended up calling my boss, to have her throw $20 in my bank account (it was $ from a couple hours I put in before I left) so, instead of $20, she throws in $30, all the cash she had on her that day.WHY does she treat me better than my own Grandmother? GRANDMA KNOWS living isn't cheap...Oh, and I a 31. Been on my own for almost 16 years. And dammit! We spent like $500 on that camping trip, should have put it in the house deposit fund..lol
