So I recently had an infection under the foreskin. The test showed 3 different microorganisms but it cleared up very quickly with medication. The doctor gave me a booklet on preventing this condition which says to always retract before urinating and to dry it off afterwards. It also suggests keeping the foreskin retracted which I can do for a while but then it always goes back over the head. Is there anything I can use that will help keep it retracted?

Keeping retracted

Keeping it retracted all the time sounds like overkill to me.

I'm with Ineligible on this one, the suggested thing isn't particularly... normal If you're in good health, then after a while you may resume normal handling of your foreskin and penis and things should be just fine. Now as for how, you can try to fold the foreskin under the edge of the head and it should prevent the skin going forward.

I agree with the others - the foreskin shouldn't be retracted all the time. One of the primary purposes of the foreskin is to keep the glans (head) covered when not in use, to keep it moist, sensitive, and protected. Keeping the foreskin retracted all the time isn't necessary to keep it clean and infection-free. Retracting the foreskin for urination is a good idea though, more for hygiene than for preventing infection though.
