Just out of curiosity, how many of you guys have experienced sexual harrassment in the workplace? How many of you have witnessed an employee/supervisor harrassing another employee? When I was 18, I was kissed by a much older employee. He also wanted me to wear a skirt one day. The next day I told him that he couldn't come on to me like that again. He understood and never really bothered (or talked) to me again.

you know where there is a ton of bullshit going on? finacial/brokerage houses. Why? because the top producers bring in millions of dollars and get away with shit all the time. I remember being completely inscensed about some of the shit said to my old g/f by her boss. She was (is) an executive assistant to a broker.I remember about 14yrs ago being ready to walk in there and knock his fucking head right off. She convinced me it would end her carreer. Sounds backwards to me.

Luckily I haven't had a supervisor try anything with me. Your story just reminded me of a guy who I used to creep me out when I was working at Wal-mart last summer. I would go around the boys/men's clothing section to literally avoid him. I remember once when I was walking out to my car at night, he just drove up in his car and said, "I was just making sure you got to your car okay." While the gesture was probably in good intentions, it was still kind of awkward because, I think, I told him I didn't really need anyone to walk me out because my boyfriend was already waiting on me.

I have kinda sorta a little yes. When I first started working at the Italian restaurant. They made me dislike Italians for a while but I realized it was just them. The uniform was ridiculously sexist. But it was like a mixture of sexism, racism, and sexual harassment at the same time. But I'm a soccer girl... I can kick really really hard. Something they will never ever forget for as long as they can still walk.

Quote: The uniform was ridiculously sexist. But it was like a mixture of sexism, racism, and sexual harassment at the same timeOk I’m kind of confused…….and I don’t want to make this a big issue either. Just want.. I dk. I’m confused. Or maybe I’m reading the wording wrong ( I do do that) but…A uniform can be sexist….. Sexism I guess. (isn’t that kinda the same thing?) But how is a uniform racism and sexual harassment.? I mean I can understand why some place make u wear a uniform.. Like an Italian restaurant would probly like u to look like ….well Italian. But… that’s not really racist. (I’m not saying the dressing wasn;t bad…… I dk wut they made u wear …. I just can’t put race to cloths I guess)Humm I had another thought.. Is there some kind of code or rule or something for restraints or stores to have for that reason…(sexist)?

there should be a law. but I don't know. if there is they sure are not following it.
and I didn't mean the uniform was those three things lol sorry I should have separated it. The uniform was sexist because the guys got to wear comfortable clothing like pants and a shirt and the girls were "supposed" to wear these two pieces of threads they called a skirt and a tube top. I didn't even bother putting it on. I told the manager I was hired to work at a RESTAURANT not Hooters. so he changed it to pants and a shirt like the guys just more "feminine" as he liked to call it. he said the only reason why he did it was because I was his "favorite". Lies of the devil lol.
But the restaurant itself the employers and what not were sexist and racist. I mean it's an ITALIAN restaurant selling Italian food but not all the employees were Italian myself included. Like some of them would call me things you usually hear back in the 40s or slavery times. and I was treated differently then the others. For the employees there were only two black females including myself, one hispanic and the others were Italian. the girls were treated like... like... what a cat does to it's scratching post to give you an idea. And then the other girl and I were treated even worse. I'd rather not mention. All I know is, I handled the situations better than my father would have. Don't get me wrong I love the restaurant and most of the people were my friends. The manager has become like an uncle to me. They were just... confused and VERY misunderstood. And they needed a reality check.

Happens all the time where I work, cept it's the women doing it.There are only 4 men in our clinic, and we hear things all the time that, if we said, we would get in mondo trouble for.The worst was one time I was in the front office and the secretaries all started talking about lesbians and were pretty graphically describing how they had sex. I mentioned the fact that I, as a man, would get in trouble for talking like that. I was told flat out, "Your office is back there." That really pissed me off. I really wanted to report it, but didn't want to cause trouble.I've had to sit and listen to a female co-worker talk about how big her nephew's penis supposedly is. Several times I've had female co-workers say "that looks hot" or "you look hot". I've had women talk about sex with their husbands in front of me.What would happen if I said these things to a female co-worker?Hmmm.....

my old boss at work was hideous... when i first started everything was normal, it was my frist job, so i was realy new to the whole 'working' thing, but after a few months of me being there, things changed!
i was the youngest he had ever employed, i was 16 at the time, and he had only employed people over 18 as there was paper work or something. so he just said he had neve employed people younger, but has made an exception for me... personally i just think the company was desperate for another body! but the closest person to my age was 22!
quite a gap!
anyway, after a few months, (we dont have to wear a spesific(SP) unifrom, just anything, but have our little denim pinny on top) i allways wore trousers, but he used to tell me to wear skirts, and heels, which i couldnt really understand but did anyway as i didnt want to be fired, then as i used to walk past he'd slap my bum, or if he was close or whatever pt his arm around my waist... i just thought he was being freindly, or that was what people did at work lol yes i was wrong!
in the end he got too much, he ended up going waaaaaaay too far when i was in the stock room alone one day, and i ran out of there scared out of my whitts!!
few months later i got new manager (shes female) and she is the best ever! so i stayed! -
This happened to a friend of mine and myself. We were both 18 at the time and worked in a packing factory. The boss of our boss kept making sexual comments to us. I finally had enough and basically told him to fuck himself and may have even called him a filthy dago. The next day I was fired for insubordination.

I have to beleive that "men" like that will eventually get what's comming to them. They'll play their little game with a lady who's b/f is a cop or lawyer or just a jealous psycho (or worse yet...ME!)

Well, there was this guy at work that told the NASTIEST jokes ever, they were seriously disgusting (and I am pretty relaxed about most sexual jokes, just because I'm used to it from school). I told him to knock it off several times, mentioning that I was underage and only 16, and then I eventually reported it to his boss, who talked to him about it... Problem solved.

Although I love my 'old' boss to pieces, I absolutely despised her husband! He was a complete creep-o who always felt the need to get too touchy-feely with me when ever he was in town. I mean he came across as a really sweet guy, but he just put off that strange vibe that really made me feel uncomfortable around him, and he just invaded my personal space too much. There was no reason for him to squeeze my thigh as he walked past me while I was sitting down or slide his hand across my side when ever he saw me. I've also had stuff happen with my customers; for some reason they think they're allowed to get closer than they should. For example, I have one named 'Brady' who just has to try and put his hands all over me every time he sees me. He always tells me how I'm just the cutest thing he’s ever seen and how he much he'd like to take me home and other things I'd rather not get into right now. I just attract weirdos in general because they flock to me like flies. And people wonder why I'm looking for another job!!
