I just got back from watching the new Harry Potter movie, and I have got to say this is the best one yet! It was loads better than I originally thought it would be, not to mention this movie had some killer special effects. I was rather impressed with it. Anyone else see it? What did you think?

HP Movie
-
I'm going to take my neice and son to see it in a couple nights, going on opening night seems like suuuuuch a pain.
-
alot of the kids here are afraid to see it. they think it's looks really scary/creepy. The Harry Potter movies do seem to be losing their innocence.
-
well thats kind of the point, the characters are growing up(and thankfully so are the actors, hate to see 15 year olds with a heavy 5'0 clock shadow..) so naturally the challenges they face would be harder and well gloomier
the the OP: um nope and i dont plan on seeing it in theatres 4 or 5 hours is way too long to be stuck in a theatre....
-
i'm waiting on paul's movie report of it...... counting the snakes.
in no hurry to see it. might not ever see it. i dk. to me it's like one of those movies u can see one time and never see it agian. but it;s wired to have seen them all and not the last one. so i dk... it realy depnds on the snake count. lol -
As a movie adaptation of the book, it was horrible. From the very beginning there was already many parts missing and, as the movie went on, many wrong things. The worst part was the ending. It was no where near as emotional as the book and was unfairly cut up. As a hard core fan, it wasn't that great. But as a movie, it was good. The acting is getting better, but I absolutely loved Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood. She was just perfect! Umbridge was almost as good.Go see it if you like the movies but I always tell people to read the books instead.ADDED:Oh oh! They even cut out Quidditch! We don't see Ron play in the team! WTF!? And the relationship between Harry and Cho is much more meaningless in the movie than in the book.
-
Yeah, I resolutely refuse to watch the movies, ever since the first three. But I've heard from a ton of people that Luna Lovegood and Umbridge were really good, and that the acting was getting better as a whole for the cast.

Heh heh, ever since the second movie, I've already convinced myself that the movies and the books are two seperate universes (yes, I'm in denial). But I thought the first two weren't so bad, since they're small books, they didn't cut up a lot of stuff. In fact, I loved them. However, it did went downhill from the third and on.But yeah, the acting is getting better.

Although I agree that they left many things out of the film, you can't expect all the key points to be added into the movie (it'd be too long and no one would watch it); I was impressed with the acting though. It was much better than the last four films. I was really disappointed that they didn't go into detail on the prophecies or Neville's parents. It also aggravates me that they never allow Tom’s character Draco to have more than three minutes of film time; his character is very important to the story but they never seem to bring that across in the films. All that aside, I still loved the film any way @ CR- There was only one snake in the film that I can remember... but you only see it for a bit

It's an injustice! Grr!

Me too!!
I'm just really excited about the new book even though I know I'm going to be so pissed after I finish reading it lol
-
Lol, same here! I mean, I've been pissed off since the 5th book, so I don't think the last one will be any different (In advance, I shall curse the author now. Damn you again Rowling!). But I still can't wait to read it, heh heh.
-
They're addicting!! Like coffee and crack all rolled into one insanely aggrivating thing you just can't get enough of... or at least thats how it is for me  And since I just happen to have the social life of a plastic sack, I'll be at the store at midnight to pick up my copy as soon as they're brought out...
I'm a nerd, what can I say? lol
-
I'm a geek, not a nerd. Nerds are smart. Hee hee, can't wait to get my paws on that book!
-
As a movie adaptation of the book, it was horrible. And for those of who haven't and never will read the book, the movie will probably be GREAT!!
-
And for those of who haven't and never will read the bookSacrilege!!!I'm actually not too worried aobut the last book, mostly because JK said it was her favorite... Azkaban used to be her favorite, and then it was Half-Blood Prince, and I love both books more than any of the other ones (although I like Half-Blood Prince the best)
-
I was a little disapointed, I'd hoped for a little more action and not as much walking around. Dumbledore continues to disapoint me.
-
ive seen it on wednesday, and it was good. im just disapointed that they cut a lot out from the book.
-
I saw it a few nights ago, and it seemed like another HP movie. Cut a lot of stuff out, other parts seemed totally random (if you hadn't read the book), other than that, it was ok.
