hi there.i would like to ask if it was better if i smoked cigarettes.my family smokes, my dad, my mom and even my elder sister.most of the time,i'm like smoking the second-hand smoke(inhaling the smoke that is exhaled by the smoker)i been reading up about that matter. and i found out that it's more harmful than smoking myself. so i'm wondering what should i do, there's no way i can go to a corner to prevent myself from inhaling the smoke as my parents and sibling smoke almost all of the time.

Frankly that is just dumb!
Second hand smoke isn't WORSE than smoking. It can cause alot of damage though.
At some point you will be able to leave the smoky enviroment, don't take a deadly habit with you when you go.
In the mean time, try to keep the smoke out of your bedroom as much as possible, and hang out there.

the only time i can inhale fresh clean air is when i'm at school or out with my friends.it's kinda hard for me to leave the house when my parents are home because they seldom allow me to go out for long periods of time. not even going out for a short walk in the park or anything.and when i'm in my bedroom, my dad will yell at me because i shut the door and just do my work. it's hard to even get away from the smoking environment.i did bring up this matter about the smoking thing in front of my dad, and he just say that he will move to a side of the living room to smoke. he did, but guess what, the smoke will just travel around the room and it's like no difference.after a few tries of mentioning the smoking incident, i have given up.there's nothing much i can do when i have stubborn parents.

But picking up a nasty habit ISN'T the way to handle it. In time, you will grow up, and be outta there. School, jobs, friends,(all things that will get you out of the house more in time) the last thing you want is a stupid addiction fallowing you out of there!

You could by a fan, and sit in front of it. (not like directly, but have the air blowing away from you)

Starting to smoke is worse than breathing the secondhand smoke. Keep windows open. When you are in your room close the door and open a window. Explain to your dad why you are doing so. So what if he yells at you. Every time he does.. explain why. Tell him you know that the smoke is harmful for you and that you want to limit your exposure as much as you can. Eventually he'll get it.

Out of curiosity have you started smoking? I really hope you haven't.My parents (and other people.. i can't really remember its blurry) Use to smoke around me all the time. It would choke me and they would keep on doing it despite me begging them to stop.I decided I would never... ever touch on. Now they don't smoke around me.. they still do it.. but, as far as I'm concerned its their life.

nope.i ever tried in when i was 15 when i was with my friends, it wasn't much, just 1 puff. i was curious and playful at that age with my smoking friends.

Yah dude, dont start smoking just because your already "smoking" the second hand smoke. I mean, if you feel second hand smoke is bad, taking up smoking would only add on to the bad effects. A funny comparison I just thought of is if you were drowning and you were taking in water and couldnt get air is if you kept trying to take in more air and more water. I would keep my mouth closed and although not getting more air I would at least by stopping one of the bad elements. Anyways, just talk to them or ask them to buy a fan or use it. Hope you understood what I meant there lol
