Looks like we are having a fun hurricane season...Texas looks to get it twice, with 'Dean' coming its way. Then the rest of the country deals with drought and heat. Fun times... not!

I live in louisiana =/.Our idiot good for nothing elected offical cathleen blankstare is shitting her pants when small storms pop up =/. She even sees rain and she pisses herself right now.Odds are we may have to have an evacuation just because, blankstare freaks out over a small little hurricane >.<

I'm going to visit my sister in Wilmington, NC at the end of June. She was saying the weather would be nice, but it's hurricane season. They are prone to hurricanes and have had their share. I was talking to her last night and was kind of joking how it would be cool if a class 1 or 2 hurricane came along while I was there. It would be a bit scary, but probably not any scarier than the frequent tornadoes we get around here. But it would be a good story.

I live in Los Cabos, Mex. (at the end of California's Peninsula) and yea hurricanes affect us a lot in this season.

My cousin lives in the Caymans, he was evactuated to New York today, and gets to stay at some nice hotel. He's happy he's been evacuated by his boss (some rich guy), but he's distraught, hoping that it doesn't cause to much damage back at home.

Meh. Hurricanes aren't really that big of a deal. I'd be more worried about a tornado. tornados seem more to pop out of no where.. We already know hurricanes are coming and we have alot of time to prepair =/,Katrina is the only hurricane I can ever recall losing power for more then an hour or two for.Katrina sucked.. lost power for a week and a half >.< some people had power back after 30 minutes. Oh well. Katrina was a pain in the ass but, really now the stories are all so distorted no point in even trying to argue it.
-
Wow, it seems like Katrina really hit you the hardest...
-
One member here lost his house and contents to Katrina.
-
Thats gotta suck =/. I can't even imagen losing our house then, again if we did my elderly grandparents woulda died no questions asked (in their 90's and rapidly deteriating health). The worst my family had it was trying to keep them comfortable which ment keeping gas in the generator.bob you don't have to be sarcastic every post =/.
-
I wasn't being completely sarcastic, I do feel for you. I've only ever lost power for a few hours.Funny story actually, there was a comedy program on a while back that was discussing previous elections and they mentioned how someone had thrown a bicycle into a power transformer to cut off the electricity so voting info couldn't be submitted. A few minutes after the show ended, the power went. Can anyone guess what happened?

our home, the barns and more…all of it got killed by Katrina. We had a room full of trophy’s , buckles and saddles we won I even had a mx trophy ..all gone. Along with pictures of us when we were kids and babies. Out of everything the thing mom was most upset about was the pictures of her parents……and our baby and kid pictures of us growing up. Both my mom and dad’s parents have been dead for years.. I don’t have a single picture of them anymore. Our “stuff” has been replace but…… there are something’s u just can’t replace. My aunts and uncles and relatives all gathered up copies of any pictures they have of use when we were younger and sent them to one of my aunts. She gave her a picture book scrap book thingy for Christmas…….. My mom cried her eyes out. At least she has some of them again…still none of her parents tho. Even tho it was bad and everything got took away (my parents were not moving back…neither did my uncle)… were one of the luckier families. We had places for our horses to stay and the coliseum but our dogs had to live in dog carriers, so did the cats. Talk about some pissed off cats!. My fish lived in a bucket. We lived with my aunt in a house trailer and had no power for a few days. Hot as fuck too and the heat and a tiny room I had to share with two other guys…not fun. I hated watching the news.. People in fights over gas and getting guns pulled out on them and all the shit that was happing in new orlins…… it was killing me to watch the tv. People were getting shot and gang rapped cuz of this fucking hurricane. My mom had to fight with their insurance companies with the tractor and me and ry‘s trucks.... We had to move into the first house with land that they could find. My uncle lived with us until he found a job (with was hard) my dad paid him to help build fence lines and barns until he got his job at the bank.. Now he has a apartment. I hate to say this but.. If my parents didn’t have money and great credit I dk where we would be living at right now. I mean we have moved away and recouped from Katrina cuz we were able too.

Ouch I am glad to hear your all right man. Its amazing you were able to move all your animals and stuff. We wouldn't have been able to evacuate if our lives depended on it because of our grandparents. They are so old really I think the move would have killed them. I dunno we have enough money to keep them comfortable in the move.. but, they had just begun to settle into their new house. Katrina really shook things up. Quote: People in fights over gas and getting guns pulled out on them and all the shit that was happing in new orlins…… it was killing me to watch the tv. People were getting shot and gang rapped cuz of this fucking hurricane.I can really relate here. Our news went quite literally crazy. One minute they talked about how all these horrible things were going on. Then a little bit later they spoke about how "rumors of roving gangs are just lies". It pissed me off that thugs were wondering around having their way with people and I was being told that "Rumors of roving gangs are just rumors". If I see the local news people ever. I think I'll give em a good kick in the balls. I am glad things are looking up for yall. Hope they keep gettin better. Actually I just quit working with a guy who came from new orleans. Well a bunch actually. A family owned a store in new orleans and they rebuilt it near my town and well.. it turned out to be good news for them because they are about to open their 3rd store.I can't even imagen what its like to have it all taken away. We lucked up. It sucked that my dad had to get gas on a daily basis. That was pretty much all he did. He went out.. drove around. Found gas. Got gas. Went to look for more gas. He probably spent over a thousand on gas alone. We were lucky to even have generators really and get by with no major damage to our house or anything. Even after school started we saw houses with trees threw them and that was a good 2 weeks later. We were very lucky in katrina at my house. My dad didn't get shot while looking for gas. No tried to loot our house.Lol this today is the first time i have even spoken about katrina since it actually happened. However, I still think what pisses me off most about the whole scenerio is the way the news would say stuff was happening and report it then later on deny that it was happening. However, I think its safe to say the later reports were lies =/.
