I was with one of my guy friends today at the bowling alley helping him with his little brother's birthday party, in other words babysitting to the max. But, anyway it was pretty busy in there and I had to wear this ridiculous looking hat to go with his party's theme. But we finally got some free time to ourselves when the parents took over for a while. Anyway, the gang and I were just goofing off and having a good time bowling. But all the while there were 2 women and a male staring at me for the longest time. And it was creeping me out so I just ignored them. Then when we went to go order a pie one of the females approached me and started talking to me. She was like "[dramatic mode]YOU are one of the most BOOOOTIFUL creatures I have EVA seeen". If you can't tell... she was foreign. And I thought to myself "last time I checked I was human." lol but she kept going on "you have such unique features and gorgeous eyes etc etc blah blah blah" and then she took off that goofy looking hat off my head and was like "GASP! oh my goodness! your hair is absolutely gorgeous" when really there was nothing special about it. I just washed it and blow-dryed it and I didn't bother to straighten it because it's the summer and I'm not trying to look cute for anybody. Don't really know what cloud she was floating on. And then she said that I should consider modeling. And I told her I'm only 16 and I'm not into that. And she went on and on about a whole bunch of other models I've never heard of and how they started young to become famous and successful or whatever. But the guys were calling me to come over and help so I told her I had to go and she gave me her card and some magazine thing. She said she worked for a company for some weird designer I've never heard of Alassandro Dell something. Never heard of him. So while playing with my friends they told me I should try it out. And then the three of them approached me and asked me if I had changed my mind and I told her I might consider it. And she told me there was an opening next week in Manhatten at a photo shoot for some portfolio... I don't even know what she was talking about she used ALOT of big words. lol. Lack of school made my brain kind of mushy. I just nodded my head like I knew what she was saying. But I heard the word "photo" a couple of times... and that Alassandro Dell name again. Yah... the male was cute and had a nice pink tie....anyway. I'm really not that interested because I don't like taking pictures. I'd rather be the one clicking the camera. And the only modeling I know of right now is Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell and some stuff from when I watched America's Next Top Model a couple of times. But I don't want to completely reject it because my friends made a big deal out of it and practically everyone in church knows and my mother found out before I could tell her. Crackheads man. So yeah... what do you guys think? One thing I want to know is why in the world they were in a bowling alley in "DA BX" in the dirty run down gang infested hood. come on now...

Modeling?
-
That's just creepy. :fearful:
I wouldn't even bother with it and burn what she gave you. I saw a movie a while back on TV that started out something like this. The movie was about a group of people scouting women for modeling. But in reality, they were kiddnapping women and turning them into prostitutes. So, in other words, it was about human trafficking. Very disturbing movie.
But I also heard of people scaming girls for their money. They would say they are from some big name hot shot company and ask for thousands of dollars to help you start your "career". Then they take your money and you never hear from them again.
I don't know, but if I were in your shoes, I'd forget about it.
ADDED:
Could it be this guy? If they are legit and you don't like the idea of modeling, then move on with your life with the big silly hat. -
Yeah I kinda figured that but they look pretty "professional" I'm no fool though I'm not going to jump right into it. I really don't know....but...I'll have my sister check it out since she's sort of one of those peoples. But yup that's the name. Still don't know who he/she is so... kind of blew over my head lol. If anything, they can give me an internship or something to work for them like... behind a desk or something not in front of the camera. Because ABI NEEDS A BETTER JOB. sorry.. had to get that off my chest lol. I'll most likely turn it down though. And I am never! wearing that goofy hat again. It's like one of those hats they wore in the 80s. You know.. the multi-colored ones except this one had a huge duck on it.

-
I know right! I could work that hat. LOL Well the kid turned 4 and he just happened to be a huge duck lover. So he had all his favorite duck cartoon characters on hats. Daffy Duck, Donald Duck, and some other ducks from cartoons I don't know of lol. It was a very stylin' hat. Just not something you could wear in public lol.
-
That might have been one of the other ducks. But then again it was a 4 yr old party. All the ducks looked the same to me. Thanks to the crazy neon colors I'm almost blind.

Though many of these people can be a scam or worse, I've also heard of modelling careers starting this way. I think what you need to get first is an agent who knows the business. The agent can give you good advice, and also make sure, if it does come to real work, that you get properly paid. And of course, as you are under-age, they should pay for a chaperone to accompany you, and it should be someone appointed by you.
