Getting dates
-
Best place, where you are doing something you like.Next best place, anywhere you go that there are people.Just start up a conversation about what is up at the place you are at, and then lead into getting a phone #, or just ask if they want to go get a bite to eat, or coffee or whatever.

Online dating is also getting more common here. I haven't tried it yet but I don't think it's as dull as it sounds. These can evolve into phone calls and more soon enough, just that it's a way to get to know each other online a bit first, interests and such. An alternative to bars if you don't feel comfortable in that environment perhaps -- I know I'm of that kind. And I'm also of the opinion that if you don't feel comfortable, you may also have a harder time getting dates, so.. shrugIt's perhaps also sometimes still carrying a stigma of it being just for geeks and no sensible or nice girls ever get on there. But I personally know a pretty hot looking girl that found a boyfriend that way, and think it has become far more socially accepted in just recent years. But sure, there's basically as many ways to find a date as there are places on Earth. If possible, and if doing it in the real world, I would like the poster above perhaps suggest a place where you share interests with girls around you. And if there's no such place, there could also be the option of finding a new interest where there are. Also, according to statistics in my country (Sweden), a common way (I think it was even the most common) to find dates is through friends. So it's probably common to meet friends-of-friends of the opposite sex at private parties and such.

ah... I've never been much of a fan of online dating. I don't think many people do it here in New York. Or maybe that's just me. Hey, why take my word? I'm fourteen But still, I know I wouldn't do it, at least, not in the next four years or so. Who knows what can happen by the time I'm 18?

I've looked on lava life and plenty o' fish; I did so for about 2 months after breaking up with my last GF (in January) but I got bored of the BS.Online dating is probably one of the more shallow ways of finding someone. It's literally a shopping-market experience based on looks and age first, then going down the line. I went on two dates; one with a girl I talked to on Lavalife, another on plenty 'o fish. Both of them were terrible for me.I've found the woman I'm with now by meeting her through a friend, and I still can't believe how much of a match we are.

I'm personally a big fan of online dating. Usually, I just make casual conversation with a lot of girls. If we hit it off online, then we talk on the phone. If we hit it off on the phone, then we meet up in person. I'm not disappointed much because I try to approach it with no expectations.

im only 16 dude...online dating isnt really even an option yet

Do you have a driver's license?
-
nope...not for like 4 more months anywho..thats prolly my biggest problem

I don't think it's your biggest problem, but it does narrow down the 'where' choices you've got going for you. Before I had a license, I stuck to school as being the place I picked up girls. Haha.
