There was a black guy on Cspan talking about how the only solution to the worlds problems is the elminitation of the white man. This black guy talking on cspan is a teacher at a schoolPeople seem to take a "just ignore him he will go away" attitude.. yet, well.. remember what happened when we ignored hitler >.< .... oh Lord...

sorry if I sound a bit Canadian here but...am I the only one mystified by the fact that a school board actually has a police force?
-
Yeah, it saddens me the hoops I have to jump through to visit one of my kids at school. And I'm in a VERY small rural town. I understand it, but it's sad.
As for the original topic...I don't think, given the cover of the book, there's anyway you can justify what this cop was spreading. It's enough for a grown-up to participate in that kind of hatred, but an official in a public school...Really, If I were a black kid in that school, how safe would I be justified in feeling? Not very. I hope the man goes down. -
I'm not going to say much. I'm sure most of you know where I stand on this. But I will say this: any person who believes people shouldn't get upset about this don't have a clear understanding of history.
-
While I believe a clear understanding of history should increase outrage with this sort of thing, I can't help but thinking that, even devoid of the historical context, any moron should see how wrong it is.
-
Sorry to say this guys but, I didn't look at the book cover. If the book cover has something degrading towards black people then by all means action should be taken. However, I still stand behind all my previous comments.

I don't think that the schools have their own "police force" I find that a little interesting. If that were the case my school has like 5. But I think the NYPD will sends squads or whatever or people to take shifts watching the school and such. That's what they do for my heathenistic school. We have a total of four cops on the block of the school and the intersection leading to it, two cops in front of the gate, two more at the door, and at least three inside. I feel like I'm on my way to jail everytime I go to school. Especially when a fight breaks out. It's over then. They practically call the swat team. They're just little boys.

We've got one cop assigned to our entire school system. Of course all of our county's schools are together on one huge campus. Works well here in Mayberry.I can't imagine having your school experience, Abi. That's sad on so many levels.
-
exactly. and people ask me why I want to leave New York for college. hmm I wonder? lol. I suppose they're right about moving to Europe though...lol.

Come to Mayberry! We've actually got a very good college here in town (Lindsey Wilson College) and another great one (Campbellsville University) right up the road. The greatest danger around here is cars passing on 55 and riding a 4-wheeler with no helmet.
