Akon
-
I do not.
-
That guy is an asshole. Did you see the video of him humping that 14 year old (I think she was 14) on stage? Or the one where he physically throws that kid off stage? Asshole.
-
I just watched both videos... what an asshole.
-
> Did you see the video of him humping that 14 year old (I think she was 14) on stage?
Did you not read the lyrics? This song was made to apologize for that. He also blames the father of the child for letting her out and he also blames the club (it's 21 and over culb) for letting her in.
I dunno about you, but he's absolutely right.
> Or the one where he physically throws that kid off stage?
And that was a staged incident in order to get the crowd hyped.
Yeah, he's such an asshole. Not.
-
You honestly believe that is a heartfelt apology? It comes across to me as nothing but sarcasm. Of course the parents and the club should accept some blame. But ultimately Akon is responsible for his own actions.
-
You honestly believe that if the girl was over 21, anyone would even know about the whole incident? He was at a 21 and over club, so he expected everyone to be 21 and over. Can you blame him? That's what this is about. Way to totally miss the point.
-
Remember that man in the park...the one who nabbed the little 8 year old girl and took her away and raped her and killed her? Yeah, that man.Know who's fault that was? Obviously the parents who took their eye off the little girl and let her get away. Yeah, let's crucify them, the damned incompetent a-holes. It's all their fault.Akon is a shallow, narcissistic, no talent thug who is part of a culture of people who think they should be able to do what they want and not have to accept any blame.
-
The only difference is that 8 year old IS ALLOWED IN THE PARKAkon blames the father and more-so, the club, for letting that girl get in. The fact is, if that girl was over 21, there would be no scandal about this. How can you blame him for not knowing the girl was 14/16 (whatever she was) when he was having a good time... in a 21-and-over club?I wonder sometimes if people here even think before they respond.
-
The 8 year old girl was allowed in the park, but she knew she wasn't supposed to wander away from the playground.I've seen that video. The girl was clearly not an adult. You can't convince me he mistook her for one. And even if she were 21, humping her on stage - in my opinion - was still a disgusting act.I sometimes wonder if you think at all.
-
You can't convince me he mistook her for one.If I was throwing a party in a 21-and-over club, I'm not going to worry about if any of the girls are under-age. I'm going to assume they are all over 21.Doesn't matter if she looked young or not. I look like I'm about 15/16 sometimes, but I'm really 18. You should see store people look at me when I go in for cigarettes and they're like "wtf" but my ID says I'm 18.
-
I know what you're saying man. I would think going into a 21 and older anything, whether it's a movie, party, or girl scout meeting, the last person I would expect to be there would be 15 or whatever. Who, in that situation, would honestly I.D. check ANYONE once they're inside? He should not and can not be held accountable for the bouncers or management not carding the girl. If I could post a picture of myself I would, I look about 16 or so (I even made a thread about it when I first signed up at A2A) but I'm turning 21 on the 29th. This is why I still get carded when I buy cigs for family members, and try to get into rated R movies.
-
Thank you. Finally someone with a brain.
-
Yup, whether what he did on stage with the girl was appropriate or not, her age should not be used to attack Akon. He is not responsible for letting minors in to the club.
-
I guess that can be considered a serious post, good job.Only thing I'm worried about now is how the therapist damien compares this event to an 8-year-old being raped and killed in a park.I hope the kids that come to damien for help receive better analogies than that.
-
How can you BLAME akon? She probably A. Lied to him about her age.. and B. Just wanted to get with someone famous. When you go to the bar do you ID everyone you meet?? NO you expect them to be over the age of 19
-
> How can you BLAME akon?
Exactly, that's the point of his song.
He says "You can blame it on me" multiple times, and then the two paragraphs I quoted in my first post... he says "I'm sorry for this and this" but is he really sorry? Probably not, he's just being sarcastic and saying "I'm sorry the club let the girl in" and "I'm sorry the father let her daughter go to the club" (though that 2nd one is debatable).
Anyway, it's the club's fault. Period.

Akon is disgusting... and a perv.
