I definetely think there should be a seperate place for all yuo people to go to talk about politics.Yes, this is the Community Forum and that's where the community talks, but there are so many topics that it deserves it's own forum so people who dont' like politics don't have to see several when they come here.

Meh. I personally think "community" can be a very diverse topic. Politics is a part of the community. However, I personally feel it wouldn't hurt to channel some of the issues into a "political" forum.I might be wrong on this but, people could see the community and think its very "rawr" so to speak. If we aren't going to make a new forum it might be a good idea to try to tone back on the slitting eachothers throats with knives.*hides knife behind back as he is talking.

"Religion and Politics" forum.... That would get rid of a lot of flame wars.
-
It wouldn't get rid of them, just move them out of the Community Forum. But since a mod says it's a bad idea, it's never going to happen.
-
We could also have seperate forums for Sports. tv shows, movies, or just about anything else. But it would just be too much. Thats why it all goes down in the community forum.
-
sighThe point is that there are so many topics about politics (I guess throw in religion, too) that it gets crowded some days. Which is why I believe there should be another forum. If there were tons of threads abotu TV shows, I would suggest the same thing.
-
Yeah, that's what I meant, I guess. It would keep the fights contained so that I wouldn't have to see a million posts about them. The community forum, I feel, is to help us get to know one another and to make friends, in a way. All the stupid religious and political debates do is make people hate each other.
-
Well it looks like more people would rather hate each other. 10 say no, 8 say yes right now.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that some of these discussions that typically end up in flame wars have as of late tended to contain a decent amount of actual discussion. That's progress, no? Maybe it has to do with who's around and who's banned...I dunnoEven though I don't think such a separation is necessary, I certainly don't think it was wrong of you to suggest it.
