Our beleaugered sherriff has recently come under fire because of his attempts to crack down on prostitution, as several officers have been caught actually having sex with the prostitutes, which in itself is breaking the law.I've heard several arguments for and against and not too long ago, former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura said that he thought it should be legalized.Nevada has legalized prostitution, although it is a fallacy that it's legal in Las Vegas. Each county is allowed to decide whether to legalize it, and it is regulated by the government. Each prostitute is required to undergo regular STD screenings and overall the environment is supposedly much safer than say, picking a hooker up on Van Buren street, where the crack whores hang out here in Phoenix. Is this a victimless crime?(For the record, no I have never been with a prostitute)

Actually albeitmyself, if it's legalised it's much easier to regulate things like age and health of prostitutes. If it's illegal then the police have either to arrest any prostitute or to turn a blind eye, neither of which allow for discrimination between over-age and under-age prostitutes.Where I am, prostitution was legalised in licenced brothels quite some time ago. The main reason why unlicenced, illegal, prostitution still flourishes here, is income tax - legal prostitutes have to pay it, but illegal prostitutes can hide their income.
