Quote:Idk, but whatever. What kind of response is that? Quote:And I don't see how uniforms "UNIFY!" It may cause them to look unified, but appearances aren't always true. There you go nit-picking again. It would be nice if could explain your thoughts rather than picking little details. But weren't you the one who said kids should socialize?I'm guessing you've never worn uniforms.

School Uniforms: Yes or No?

They make us look like clones. You can't make fun of one without making fun of your self.
When I see people with out uniform, usually off school property, they're all so different; it's like a whole new person. This shit changes people well.

But they do not show status and class in the same way as clothes, you're blowing them way out of proportion.

I agree with you there. For my last year of school we didn't have to wear uniforms and seeing all my classmates in their normal clothes really showed me a new side of them. Obviously I had seen all of my friends outside of school, but it was odd to see the others.

now, i am agaisnt uniforms, for a few reasons, 1) i REFUSE to wear a tie to school, 2) i would end up flouting the thing and only wear the jacket and a T-shirt under that 3) i feel far more comfortable in my casual clothes than i ever do in any type of uniform, and though school is about learning, not my comfortablility, i think that if i am to learn willingly, i should be comfortable, and 4) Variety is the spice of life, i love seeing all the different stuff people wear, it entertains me

Uniforms aren't terrible, you stop noticing them after a while. And that's at least one less thing people make fun of each other for, which is really the biggest reason I support them. I mean, kids can still get made fun of if their uniform is dirty or wrinkled or something, but other than that, no one cares. And it really eliminates a lot of teasing.
As far as hair goes, my school limits hair color to natural colors (not necessarily meaning what you were born with, just not purple or blue or whatever). Hilights and lowlights are okay. Guys have to shave, and their hair can't touch their collar.

well if u were/are a chubby person like i was u cant find skool uniforms u just cant its horrible i am still not skinny and i still have trouble finding uniform clothes for school so i would say not to remove the embarresment that i had to all the my kids and other kids in my life
-
well, maybe there just arent as many assholes at my school, people dont get teased because of their clothes at my school, theres ppl that wear trench coats and top hats, who gives a crapola? I usualy wear a tan button up shirt, a brown leather jacket, a black sidebag, and some dirty ass jeans, i have never heard a word about my appearance, uniforms are pointless things in my school, and would probably end up being counter productive
-
I think uniforms in school, college rather should be mandatory. only for the girls...school girl uniform is freaking sexy. Just like the thread that was started a while ago.I am of course being 100% facetious. A joke. Don't get out of control you heathens lol

Uniforms remind me of the military, and school is NOT the military!

Yeah, but so do regular clothes. Everyone wants to wear the same brand clothes and styles. Those who really want to stand out don't care for such a thing. You sure have a strong stance again uniforms for someone who wore it for just a year, lol.

Just another piece of clothing.People who don't like uniforms just because of how they look are really bizzare. It emphasizes on how much we as a society care more on how we look, rather on who we are. They were put in school so it would eliminate this factor.

I hate ties, and i could give a crap what they look like, i am more concerned with the comfort issue
-
Lol. I wore ties before. They are not THAT uncomfortable.

What...?I don't think I've ever seen anyone wear the same shirt or any clothing, really. That's what is good about it. Obviously people are going to try to wear brand clothes, but still, people will find their own style.

Perhaps not at your school, but the one's I've been to have always been that way (we're talking about America, or at least here in LA, California). And people will wear what makes them a clique. In high school, we had the "emo kids" wear dark clothing, the "rich kids" wearing boutique clothes, the "jocks" wear sports clothing, and so on.
-
I wear uniforms...So? Who cares? Does it hurt you in anyway? There will be cliques anyway, uniform or not.

Why would I want to.
