I really need to lose at least 10 lbs by christmas. So my friend told me about this "flush diet." You can only drink sugar less juice, water, and veggies, 8 ounces of meat and one egg white per day. No salt, no sugar and no glutein. Before I try it, I wanna know, is this healthy?

No, it's not. It's Yet Another Fad Diet. You get tons of vitamins from fruit, dairy and grains which you can get no where else.Want to lose weight? Exercise, running is good.Eat whole grain products (cereal, pasta, bread, etc).Eat more veggies and fruit. Eat low fat products (not NO fat, just cut it down). No soda, no juice, in fact, try and cut down on sugar as much as you can. If you can, cut the fat off meat before you cook, or just buy it lean. If you drink a lot of milk, be wary of that too.Eat more seafood. No junk food!Basically, you just want to cut down the total amount of calories you consume everyday. You probably won't drop 10lb by Christmas (and if you did it would not be healthy weight loss, eg, muscle loss on top of the fat loss). You don't have to follow every single one of those rules I listed, but each one will help you on your way to weight loss, and some of them (like the wholemeal one) will help you a great deal without requiring any major effort on your part.Good luck.

Thank you! I really dont want to be one of those girls that does the crazy diet's!

wait...why no juice or milk?Remembering for some of us we drink the real stuff; even the "we literally cut the damn orange in half and juiced it"As far as milk, would 1% or skim be a preferred option? Or no milk altogether?

It is very easy to add a lot of unwanted calories drinking milk and juice, remember juice has about as much sugar as Coke, sometimes more. It contains some vitamins and minerals that Coke lacks, but you can often get those (and more) from eating the actual fruit itself. As for milk, I love milk, I can drink litres of it per day, and that adds up quick. Normal milks is around 600-700 calories per litre (~ per 2 pounds, don't know ounce conversion off the top of my head). I'd have to look closer at 1% and skim, but I certainly know on that diet website Helm's posted recently the guy there recommends no milk. I'm sure it's possible you'd just have to find some alternate sources of dairy.

Remembering I'm talking about actual, real, no-sodomized-to-hell-and-back juice. (IE, Orange and Apple juice) with nothing added to preserve it etc...no 'from concentrate'The real stuff...

Drink it in moderation and have it with other foods or right after exercise. It does have some vitamins, particularily Vitamin C, but all the same it is high in simple sugars. Don't drink more than 1-2 glasses a day, and the tip on having it with other foods is to reduce the impact of the high glycemic index, and your body can take up the sugar more readily after exercise without as dirastic of an insulin spike since muscles will have depleted some of their glycogen (cellular energy) stores.Edit: Lol, something just popped into my head. "Real sodomized-to-hell-and-back OJ from concentrate, full of that sweet sodomized flavour"
