Quote: I don't think it's possible to take drugs and not get addicted considering your situationI agree with this quote. They might be more damaging than good at this point. Also I agree with antidepressants or St John's wart like Ineligible said, but I would not threaten them with suicide. You could end up at the farm.

Something ive been thinking about

> I don't think it's possible to take drugs and not get addicted considering your situation.
I strongly disagree. I was in pretty much the same shoes as SomeoneYoung and smoked weed and never got addicted (not physically, not mentally). I do believe that it's possible to become mentally dependant on weed, but that's a little different story.
@SomeoneYoung:
Like I just said, I was in a similar situation as you, and I started smoking weed and loved it since the first time. I smoked because it was pretty much the only time I could get out of that depressive state I was always in. It was the only time I could feel something OTHER than depression. For me, it was great.
Now, don't think that weed was a solution. It's not a solution, it just helps me deal with my depression. Eventually you'll need to solve your depression by "normal" (as in, without drugs) means.
I'm not saying "go out, smoke weed and have fun", just sharing my opinion on it. It worked great for me.

Dude, Are drugs the issue? YOu sound depressed. If the computer is your deal, let someone here know.I know there are some recreational drugs that won't get you addicted. They can be really fun- but u need friends to make the most of it.If you want to experiment that way, figure that out first.
-
I can't figure out if you're talking to me or SomeoneYoung..
-
Beleive me i couldn't get addicted anywayBecause there's no way i could smoke in my house and cover it upSo ide have to go out of my way to go to a freinds house, which i couldnt do often even if i wanted to.
-
Beleive me i couldn't get addicted anywayBelieve me you could. Maybe not to weed, but there are plenty of things you can get addicted too. Having the "I won't get addicted" mentality only leads to bad things. Take it from someone who made the same mistake.
-
Well having the "i simply couldn't smoke weed enough to get addicted to it" set of life pretty much garuntees i wont get addicted to it....Anyway though, im def not a cool kid in school.I'm ona those kids that if i did weed and told everyone, people would think i was doing it to be cool and fit in.So it'd be something ide wanna do in private but...All the stoners hate me so...Where do you really find weed if your not cool with the majority of stoners?

A very good friend of mine was suffering from depression in the very recent past. She would wake up crying, banging herself against something trying to "get rid of the pain". She would cut herself, break things, anything to get her away.Doc gave her some prozacs, and with some support from her friends and Family, she's pretty good now. Although I wouldn't recommend she get off the prozacs for a while (it's only been about a month), she is doing VERY well. She complains her feelings seem artificial sometimes, but with the support of friends and family, normally she can surpass that artificial feeling and experience true happiness. Something she hasn't done in a long while.I'd look into finding a free clinic (colleges have lots) or talking to a councilor. True say: that is their job to get you help, if they don't: complain to the administration.

what do you have to do to go to a free clinic????Don't you gotta be like 18 and prove that your dirt poor?
-
I get free counseling at my Univ because I'm a student, but walk ins only cost $35. Not a lot considering the help it can have.
I dunno about the 18 only thing, but if you aren't 18, go see your school counselor. That's why they're there. (one of many reason)
