Hmm I was always wondering about this one and now that I started pondering it Im really pissed off about it. When I was like...young lol...prolly 11-12 (6-7 grade) I used to have extremely straight hair. It was you know, normal, straight down, etc..but now (16) my hair is gay lol. It grows straight up, not down, it is extremely curley (not like girl curls, but not for my taste). My hair when it grows it turns into one big pile of puff. Is there anything I can do to make it straight again which is pretty cheap cause im young? Will it change with age, like it did before? Is there a way to straighten it that it will grow that way too? It just pisses me off for some reason. Oh, if I cut it down really really short and let nature take its course will that help? Im not being specific...I know, but lets see what you got.

I don't think you can change the way your hair grows. You can change your hairstyle though (like a haircut). I don't like the way my hair looks when it grows out a little so when it gets too long (like it is right now a little), I'll get a haircut... If I can afford it.

a hair straightener maybe? they're only about 20 dollars I think

I just got a new straightener and it was like, 50 bucks.I recommend straightening as well, though it depends on how long your hair is it shouldnt take too long, the worse thing to come out of straightening is a mild burn on your ears. XD

There are also straightening shampoo's that might help as well. Not sure how well they work, I have pin straight hair and I hate it lol. I've love some wave to my hair lol... but I guess you always want what you don't have hehe.

Actually since you mentioned a shampoo it reminded me of chemically straightening, but my friend did that and she said it made her hair coarse(sp?) to the touch, like it was alot smoother before hand. Options options options~

Quote: Will it change with age, like it did before? I dk. Mine only changed in color and waviness. it’s getting more wavy. Quote:Is there a way to straighten it that it will grow that way too? No. your hair grows the way it grows. Lol one side of my hair grows faster than the other.. Who screwed up is that. LMAO you’ll have to fix it daily to make it look straight. My hair is natural thick and fluffy (I call it fluffy LMAO I dk wut it’s really called lol) but it hs like big wave curls. My hair short is straight but long ….well the longer it is the more of the wave curls I get. I dk why. When I was like 15 and 16 my sister would straighten out my hair… cuz I wanted straight .. She used her fat curling iron and put on some styling stuff (the stuff she uses when she curls her hair) Wut I do now is blow dry it out straight. looks around it’s kind of a joke in my house that I spend more time on my hair than my sister does hers…….. Well unless she’s curling her hair their kinda right. LMAO But yea.. I shower and wash it in the mornings and then blowdry it and while I blow drying my hair I use a round brush and turn it opposite of the way my hair grows and pull it out straight and it dries straight. ..but I turn the brush and flip my hair out towered my face to make it flip out. Then a little styling stuff and it’s done. I don’t like putting the styling crap in it but……. If I didn’t it would go fluffy and curl out. At night after I shower I let it dry naturally and it does wut every it wants too. humm.. the shampoo strighner sounds intresting.. but i'm really picky about my shampoos and conditioners for my hair.

Hmm thanks guys, i do have one more question that popped up in a conversation today...if i used a hair straightening iron or w/e or chemical method will it look like the japanese straight hair or other normal straight hair. I dont want to look japanese :P

just normal straight hair (results vary from people to people but in most cases it looks normal) and it also feels nice >.<

Aren't there "Curling" shampoos too? I wonder what effect it would have on my wavy hair.

Well my hair is loved by my hair stylist... yes, I have a hair stylist and we are on a first name basis. She gives me discounts because she just loves messing with my hair! It's funny because every guy but me is like: Just trim it.Shaving your head or cutting it really short will not change the way it grows at all. it will seem that it is growing differently at first because it has to get some length before it does anything, but then it's just back to the way it was.Your best bet is using the straightening shampoo, then use a hair straightener with straightening formula. It's usually sold by Garnierre Fructise. You know, the green bottles that smell like citrus fruit! But anyways, that's about all you can do to make it straight. But it can and may damage your hair. Straightening with a heat source can singe your hair if you don't know what you're doing. Just ask my sister! But you can't because she doesn't use this!
