Anyway its actually pretty surprising because 3 of the guys are married, and they all graduated from college and have great jobs making over 40k a year. Are you one of those daily smokers? When I can, yes. Haven't smoked in over a month because I'm not at my house anymore, though. But now is probably the first time I could pass a piss test in a very long time.> I guess it all depends on the person whether or not it can fuck your life up.I agree. To some people weed is mentally addicting, and they let it take over their lives.I don't let it control my life and some days when I can't smoke, it's not a big deal. When I came here from my own place (where Icould smoke everyday) I just stopped smoking (and I stopped smoking cigs as well) and I haven't had any cravings or anything like that (that includes cigs)

This was a myth created by the misrepresentation of studies performed by Dr. Donald Tashkin of the University of California, Los Angeles. He found that daily pot smokers seemed to experience a "mild but significant" increase in airflow resistance in the large airways compared to those seen in persons smoking 16 cigarettes per day.[1]
What the people who push this myth fail to mention is that the study involved many other tests, most of which Cannabis outperformed tobacco. The more widely accepted estimate is that marijuana smokers consume four times as much carcinogenic tar as cigarettes smokers per weight smoked.[2] But the average joint only contains about 0.4 grams of marijuana, less than half the weight of a cigarette, so 1 joint is really only equal to about 2 cigarettes in terms of carcinogenic tar.
Although its hard to compare tobacco and cannabis as they attack different parts of the lungs. While pot goes for the larger airways, tobacco tends to penetrate to the smaller, peripheral passageways of the lungs causing more damage such as emphysema.[3]
Studies of marijuana have shown that it has the capability to cause lung cancer but there has of yet been 0 cases. The biggest health risk of marijuana is injury, usually caused by accidents as a result of the effects of pot (degradation of short-term memory, concentration, judgement, and coordination at complex tasks including driving).[4]

i have been smoking marijuana regularly for the last almost six years... wow crazy when i think about it like that. anyways, there is not one instance i can think of where i smoked laced stuff. my advice is to try it in a very comfortable environment with people you trust. if you don't like it then that's that and you dont have to smoke it anymore, but if you do just be aware that you have other priorities in life and it should in no way take precident. and most of all... have fun!!

According to SAMHSA (the United States Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration), about 5% of people who use marijuana become dependent on it. But that figure is somewhat misleading, as only a minority of people who become dependent on it experience any major consequences (not counting jail, mind you). The only remotely conclusively proven negative effects of pot are on the lungs. Whoever said marijuana doesn't have tar is wrong, pot actually has MORE tar in it than cigarettes do. It's pretty well documented that chronic pot smokers are at greater risk for chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It should be noted that pot does NOT cause cancer, as several major recent studies have shown. Some researchers claim that pot can raise one's risk of certain mental illnesses, but most of the research suggests that mental illness precedes pot use and not the other way round. In fact, there's some evidence that marijuana can help treat certain mental illnesses, particularly bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder.Having been a chronic pot smoker myself for about the past 15 years, I can tell you from my personal experience, the only negative effect pot has had on me has been on my wallet All that being said though, some people just don't like the effects of pot... some people find it makes them anxious and paranoid. And it does negatively affect memory and cognitive processes in the short term, although these effects disappear shortly after use.

Because of this, lung damage caused by marijuana smoking is more easily treated than damage caused by cigarette smoking.

Agreed. You shouldn't really have anything to worry about other than some temporary shortness of breath. I theoretically have been smoking pot for years, and there isn't a problem so far. The biggest problem I've found with pot, is the people. Some people are just so stupid or have criminal association. That's the only thing I don't like about it.
-
Theoretically? Most people who smoke marijuana are criminals, as smoking pot is against the law in (too) many countries.
-
Well, I don't mean it exactly like that. I mean people who are associated with dealing and crime in general. I usually tend to come across people like that when having a sesh.

people say you cant get addicted to the drug.. and that is correct, but you get addicted to the feeling that it gives you... exactly the same thing.
the long term effects are minimal, unless you get caught in the states with it and go to jail.. in good ole' canada you get a small fine and get it taken away haha
only try pot if you really want too, dont let other people pressure you, if you say youre not into it you can probably get away with not trying it, but then there's the situations where its "just do it", its not that bad of a feeling and doesnt last that long, so just giver'
hope i help and good luck!!

Smoking weed is not that bad as people make it seem. I mean, honestly..cigarettes and alcohol are worse than weed. I have smoked well over 500 or more times, I ain't even playing. In college me, my roommate and 2 other close friends smoked a 20 sack every day. Am I messed up from that much smoking? Hell no, I am still going to college, I am in great shape because I lift weights and my health is great. If a weed is laced with something, they will tell you if its laced..besides the chances of that happening are like the chances of you getting struck by lightning...twice. A friend in college told me when they had laced weed with cocaine and I smoked it...I was straight up smacked the whole night but nothing happened to me after that. I have eaten weed brownies, done shrooms, hydrocodine, triple c's, salvia and I am perfectly fine.

Listen, at the end of the day, it all about you and whether you can handle it and the people. If you think you may have an addictive personality, do not start! If not, and I know you already know this, it is illegal. No, I don't necessarily agree with the law but it is the law. When you smoke or buy it, you do run the risk of getting in trouble with the law. It is something to consider.I really think the high ground is that if you aren't sure you want to do it, have the balls to say, nay I don't think I'm into that right now. I'm cool, you go ahead and do your thing, no biggie!

Marijuana is a wonderful drug. It has such little negative health effects, and gives you such a good feeling. You can negate 90+% of the negative effects by using a vaporizer instead of smoking it. I only smoke on rare occasion, but I love that little plant. Now, as far as peer pressure goes, I think there's 2 kinds. Theres where someone pushes and pushes trying to get you to give in, and then there's when someone tries to really pressure you, by saying things like you're not cool if you don't, and stuff like that. Personally, the first kind I'm fine with (a little nudge for an uneasy friend isn't damaging) but the second kind I'm very against. If you're with people who try to belittle you, or threaten you for not doing something, then they're not worth the time, and you should find new people to hang out with. Every time I've been out with my friends, and they smoke, sometimes I don't feel like it, and I've never once gotten anything for not partaking. If anything, sometimes they're happier because it means more for them!It really shouldn't be illegal. Sooooo many people smoke, including a vast majority of actors and celebrities. Maybe one day we'll be able to see it legalized and regulated. For all you know it could be the answer to this financial crisis!

Im 17 now and in grade 11. I smoke cigs and chronic every day. Basicaly you could say im high all the time accept for when im dry. But when i started(grade 9) about halfway through my school year I smoked about 1-2 splifs(joints) a day and stopped(ok :P once or twice) for the whole summer untill i went back the next year. So I was able to stop allthough its going to be on your mind alot. Just do something to keep yourself busy so you have no time to think about it. As for the peer presure stuff, dont listen & do what your so called "friends" want you to do because that makes you their puppet on a string. Do you want to be a puppet on a string???? nope didn't think so. What I would do in your situation is just to tell them straight up, if you dont want to smoke tell them cuz they can't make you unless they want a lawsuit up their asses lol. And of cource theyll problay say some stuff like "aww u pussy" etc.. but fuckin ignore it all because all you have to know is that, because in reality it doesn't make them any "cooler" or more respectfull than you.ugh, can never answer a question in a couple sentences hahah:P. Hope this helped man, & remember you dont want to be that puppet on a string cuz once your on there, its hard to cut your strings.

Just do it.That's the best advice I can give you. It's not going to be laced unless it looks all busted up and all leafie, if it is like this it's all shake(not bud) and then, and ONLY then would weed you buy be laced just because the seller is selling weak weed so he's trying to spice it up a bit. But one way to avoid that, is ONLY BUY BUD.If you like it, continue smokin' it. If you don't, then stop. If you like smoking it but can't regulate it, then STOP for awhile or take breaks to make sure you're not getting caught up in it.IDK?? This advice to myself has worked great. I smoke dope, I have a girlfriend, a job and friends.

You people realize i posted this like nearly a year and a half a go right? I've already smoked a shit load of weed.

This is a good example of why people are asked not to bring up old posts unless you have somethng profound to add. The issue has been resolved and all that is accomplished is that new items that need resolution are pushed farther down the list.
