Alright so if you want to read about some apocolypse crap, without taking advice from people(mayans) who did not know how to operate cars.Revelations in the bible. Chapter 13. I think everyone should read it even if they aren't christians, it's kind of interesting. Not that I believe it.Also, If your going to tell me that a guy made 1000's of predictions and has only been wrong once, it means he has probably made really general statements, much like nostradumbass, and he probably made predictions which don't have a set time period to them, therefore never really making him wrong.I 100% agree with helmnsmen, I think either the sun will go supernova, or the moon will get out of gravitational pull. But we won't be around to see the day. Unless of course we clean up what we are doing to the environment, and we become extremely advanced in space exploration.- Hope we meet aliens.

Going crazy...hopefully not

If your christian your supposed to believe in the second coming of jesus, so if the date is December 21, 2012. That's fucking COOL.

To think otherwise would be silly, arrogant human thinking. Great point. Who is to say that we are not just some science project for some other sentient beings? That could be our "God". :]

We're an alien ant farm.

hahahahahahaha.Nostradomaus predicted several end of the world dates, and they all were wrong. The bible says jesus will be with us until the end of the "world" (Which was actually a mis-translated line from the old testament, it actually meant jesus will be with us until the end of the "age", which is 2150. The end of the age in 2150 is the end of Jesus' age, which is the age of Pisces, the fish symbol. You may be familiar with the pisces sign affiliated with christianity, such as the "Jesus Live" avatar. 2150 doesn't signify Jesus' second coming, but the new age of Aquarius. It's in the bible "ye will find the man holding a barrel of water." this is Aquarius, the symbol of the water bearer. The age of Aquarius starts after the age of Pisces, the age of Jesus. We're not dying people.)After researching the Mayans, i'm pretty sure they meant "The world will change forever, including peoples attitudes". Yes it is true, our solar system hits the galactic center in 2012, but it doesnt mean shit in terms of our world ending. I think peoples attitudes will change, whether it means a new government, or people actually doing something about global warming. There will always be a book, or a religion, or a person who doesnt exist anymore who says the end of the world is approaching us, usually in our lifetime. This was done for a simple reason guys, to keep us in check. So we be good people, and repent for our sins, and try to die as holy as we can, so that we go to heaven if this really does happen. However, once you realize that religion was made for the purpose of controlling the masses of people, regardless of age, sex, ethnicity, or location, we can finally see that religion is nothing more then a scapegoat. Bush said god told him to invade Afghanistan. If i told you the world is ending in a week, would you believe me? No. Then why do you believe some mayans who lived centuries ago?and the bible doesn't say the world is ending in 2150 contrary to popular belief.I think a lot of you here need a wake up call, so i'm going to give it to you. I think you'll like this StillSearching.http://www.zeitgeistmovie.comNot the best form of what i'm talking about, but it gets it accross with visuals."The Power of Nightmares" is a good watch too, 3 hours long.Educate yourselves people.

More than any person living in the modern world, actually, so don't feel bad. It's easy to discredit them as primitive people, and say things like "Well, they couldn't operate a car." Who the fuck cares, cars just polute the earth anyway.

I think you'll like this StillSearching. Why would I like that? I watched like 4 minutes of it and had no idea what the hell that was supposed to be.> we can finally see that religion is nothing more then a scapegoatThat's what I've been saying for a while now.

Bush said god told him to invade Afghanistan. If you look at the very essence of what religion is, what it is based upon. You should realize that it is actually not such a bad thing. Religion IS a way of controlling people, however the belief's behind religion is a way of GUIDING masses of people. If you are going to take quotes from a village idiot, then that is very unfair to base an entire religion or being upon. I do not believe in any of the current and preivous religions god(s) However, I do think there is a high chance of there being a higher spiritual being . To deny that there may be a possiblity of one, would be insanely ignorant. I hear stories of how people have had 'out of body' experiences, I know a ex-priest who told a story of one, where the person was able to name every single person in the room next to them. I sure hope there is something else after life as we know it.

Unless you call your own brain a spiritual higher being.
-
Wow still searching, your article disproved nothing. This had to do with out of body experiences in the same room. This person actually went to another room that they had not visited once before, and listed the people who were in it. Try that on for size.
I've seen zetigeist, and I think that it makes alot of sense in many ways. However I do not think it disproves the idea of a god. How is it that all of our constellation system align to tell such stories? I think that maybe a presence of a higher being could only create the constellation in such a way that could be manifested in the zodiac. If you call it coincidence then it is like me calling the Jesus story aligning with the zodiac a coincidence.
-
And I suppose you think lucid cdreaming is a higher spiritual being as well? *rolleyes*

I think the Mayans had a few greater accomplishments than you have, no offence. More than any person living in the modern world, actually, so don't feel bad. Ahh... Sexpert... you're a fine example of the ignorant people who pollute the earth to this very day.You just described a vast majority of people, the "Mayans" to have more accomplishments then "me" or most of us.So... you just basically said a few thousand Mayans have accomplished more.. then me and a few other people? Ok... you're smart, clearly.Next time you try to say i'm wrong, use wholesome facts instead of just generalizations.Btw, none of them were smarter then Einstein, a modern-world inhabitant who didnt claim to be a prohpet just because he saw an image of god in his tea.Nice try though. Next...StillSearching..Ill agree the intro to the movie is hella long, 10-15 mins i think. Just skip the intro and get into the religion/astrological part, it's the first chapter of the video, right after the intro.
-
nothing can disprove the theory that god exists. thats why religion is still in extistence you can only disprove gods intentions why god could existthat is why there is so many religions that fight with one anotherwhich is the perfect oppurtunity for a being of pure evil and deeption to striketo pretend to mend all religions together would bring hope and trust to anyone who can do it as soon as there eating out of the palm of your hands down comes the hammerthe four horse of the apocalypse are let loose and the war of black and white goes up in flames

why the fuck the 21st? 4 days before christmas we'd die fuck it

If you like reading, look for a book called "Chariots of the gods". It's based along those lines, and very thought provoking.
I LOVE reading, and Im about to start working at Barnes and Noble, so I could find that book easily! Nifty, I will check it out.

Back to my point
>>>If i told you the world is ending in a week, would you believe me? No. Then why do you believe some mayans who lived centuries ago?
Don't be an idiot.
Or at least TRY not to be one.
I think you've read yourself stupid, homie. Books can only get you so far. Drop the attitude and step away from the books.
Why are you comaring yourself to an entire culture? The Egyptians. You want to tell me how much you compare to them too? Spunky.
-
"Why are you comaring yourself to an entire culture? The Egyptians. You want to tell me how much you compare to them too? Spunky. "
Um excuse me.. it was YOU who compared me to the entire mayan culture, dumbass.
No shit _the entire mayan culture_ has accomplished more then i have, sherlock.
"I think the Mayans had a few greater accomplishments than you have, no offence."
As my point still stands, you're wrong and dont know how to reinforce your ideas properly.
And as for books "getting me so far" Why? Should i drop books and watch TV, where you probably got your "information"?
Again, youre wrong. -

We are no where near the galactic center. We are roughly 26,000 to 28,000 light years from the galactic center and we are not even headed toward it. Beyond that the laws of physics show that there is not way we can cover such a distance in four years. We orbit the galactic center at a rate of once every 200 to 250 million years. Your are here in the Milky Way. And, here is the orbital path of our solar system in the Milky Way. The galactic center is a high star population area. While a coalition with another star or system would be highly unlikely we would more than likely be irradiated into non-existence, if first the interaction of gravity with near stars didn't hurl comets and asteroids, within our own solar system, at us. The galactic center is not a place friendly to our form of existence.
-
Galactic radiation would not be good. You never know if we could be blasted into oblivion..http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7148671.stm

I read that at LiveScience.com, I think. I found it fascinating. Nothing like sterilizing a whole galaxy. As far as posing any threat to us, as you probably know by reading, there is none. That particular galaxy is to far away to pose any danger to us and the super-massive black-holes (SMB's) in the galaxies around us, much like our own SMB, are not currently feeding and therefore not producing any high energy radiation jets. Not to mention none are in the right orientation to irradiate us. The greater threat to us, as far as high energy irradiation, would be from a relatively nearby supernova. While there is one (100, 150 or so solar mass, can't really remember) star close by that is ready to go supernova sometime in the next couple million years, it's not close enough.
