Ever since I finished my period I've had yellow discharge. After a whole day, the bottom of my underwear has a build up of dried yellow discharge. I've had to change my underwear a few times a day because it always comes out yellow (and i don't have any pantyliners.) Also, it is not clear at all. Not sure if you need this info..But I had an STD test and they said I had chylmydia but I was already treated for it a month ago. Around the same time I had a pap smear and results said it was normal. I haven't had sex since I got tested and had a normal pap smear. I don't feel any pain or ichiness and my vagina looks normal. What could it be? How can I treat it? Do I need to see a doctor about this? Thanks[edit: forgot to mention, I just started taking oral contraceptive pills again on the first day of my period after a month long break from them. they are called apri]

Weird Discharge

Having a yellowish color is normal. It turns into yellow when it dries on your underwear.

it was less yellow before and more clearer. also, i just changed my underwear maybe 30min-1hr ago and there is a dried yellow stain with dried specks of a lightbrownish-yellow discharge.what does it have to look like to be an infection? Also..what is it supposed to smell?
-
A sign of vaginal infection is if the color, texture, amount, and/or smell changes from what is normal to you.If it smells really foul, different from usual, then it could be an infection.

how do i treat an infection?also if I have sex with my boyfriend could I give him an infection too?
-
The most common type of infection is a yeast infection, but with them there's usually a smell too. Yeast infections are treated with antifungal creams - you can get suitable stuff from any pharmacy. You can pass it to your boyfriend, though guys often show no symptoms (so he should treat himself too, whether he has any symptoms or not, or he'll pass it back to you). But that's if it is a yeast infection, which is far from certain.

I actually have a bad sense of smell...but when I hold the panty liner close up to my nose, there is a smell present.
Update. Today I woke up, my panty liner was pretty clean from the night. Then I changed it. A few hours later, I checked it again and there was a about a quarter sized spot of blood on it. So i changed it. A few hours later, my new pantyliner had blood too, about the same amount. It seems to be a brownish red color.
Some factors to consider
After a month break from taking OC, i started taking oral contraceptives on the first day of my period. My OC (apri) didn't give me any negative side effects since I first started taking them, two years ago. It's been 11 days since I started taking them again. the 7th day I stopped my period and noticed the yellow discharge. the 11th day (today) I noticed blood. Mentioning this because I read somewhere OC can cause blood spotting.
Another thing..I got an ovary removed a month and 8 days ago, however, I didn't have any bleeding from that then.
:frowning: during my period I also didn't change my sanitary napkins as often as i should have. they were pretty full by the time I changed them.
Any idea what it is with this new info?
Is it okay to use an antifungal cream without checking with my doctor first to make sure that it is an infection?
How will my doctor diagnose what it is? Through pap smear?
Thankyou so much

I can't answer on most of these, but using antifungals is pretty safe and should be all right to do as a trial to see if it works. It won't affect your spotting, though.

It's probably most wise not to self-diagonse and see a doctor. From what you said, it seems like a trip to the doctor is in order, since we can only know so much. No, not a pap smear. He/she will just give you a check up down there.
