So i have recently become infected with tapeworms i believe. I think i got it from work (I was dishes, and bus tables) and im always around gross stuff.
Ive checked myself (in the mirror) and in my fecis and have seen the worms themselves (they look like the same things animals get)
Well anyway i was wondering if anyone here has had them before, or do you know if there is an over the counter treatment for them? I dont have medical insurance so i cant really go to the doctor (i could but its not in my budget at the moment and wont be for awhile). I looked online and there is some treatment i can order but im not sure if its legit. Is it possible the pharmacy has an over the counter thing that i dont need a prescription for?
Any help is appreciated, thank you.

You can get over-the-counter stuff here, so it's probably the same for you. It's quite effective.

Having had a different species of worms myself several times in my life, I will tell you that the medication for worms here in the states is not available over the counter. There should be some sort of low-cost option for you to go to the doctor, maybe not without a lot of hassle, but it is there. Otherwise, you could expedite the whole affair by just booking an appointment with a doctor and take (eeks) a stool sample with you. This is easily accomplished by using some disposable plastic container such as an empty butter dish. This is essential since diagnosis is by stool and ova culture, something that shows exactly which variety you have, since there are so many. The way that you said you think you got it only works if you are working with the feces or intestines of animals, eaten infected meat or fish. There are many varieties though, such as pinworms and hookworms. Pinworms can be easily obtained from your pet... They have them, they put out a few eggs at night on your bed, wa-la... The way to see if you have that one is scotch tape at the anus at night. The adult worms actually leave the anus at night, lay the eggs outside the body, then wriggle back in. Symptoms are itching and wriggly feelings at night...Hookworms go thru the bottoms of your feet while walking barefoot, then get into your bloodstream, into the lungs, coughed up into the sputum, then swallowed into the gut, where they live and lay eggs... Needless to say, you really want to have the stool and ova culture done and get the med from the doctor. My love, Helms loved to try to tell me 'no way' on some of the above, but believe me, the thorough research paper I did in nursing school way over 20 years ago was information that is timely and unchanging since...Now, don'cha wanna go give a stool sample!K
