Ever since I woke up today I noticed that I feel a bit different down there. Kinda like I have to pee, mixed with the feeling of what happens if you don't push a tampon in all the way, if that makes any sense. A little while ago, I started getting concerned and looked down there with a mirror. There's some fairly thick whitish stuff down there, I wiped away a couple globs of it but I can see a bit more when I spread myself open. It smells kind of like the stuff I secrete when I get horny, but a bit stronger and different, I dunno how to explain it. What worries me is that I've never had an infection or anything before, and also, over the past month or so my boyfriend and I have been goofing around a bit. He's given me oral twice, and fingered me on several other occasions. He swears he's clean, and I believe him, but I'm really worried that this could be something serious. I even read that this could be a sign of HIV, which terrifies me. Please help. I'm really scared. I'm 17 if it helps any. If you need to know anything just ask. Edit: Also, I didn't think of this before because I was getting really freaked out, but I use either the shower head (I set it so it's roughly an inch thick, pounding stream and just turn down the pressure) or the bathtub faucet to masturbate nearly every day. Could that be a reason? I'm really confused.

Yeast infection, or not? Please help...

Seems like a yeast infection, but you need to see a doctor for a sure diagonsis.Masturbating doesn't cause a yeast infection. And don't have sex with your boyfriend until you're clean because you can pass it back and forth.

But couldn't the water going inside have caused an imbalance or something? Also, we haven't had sex and don't plan on it for a very long time. The most that has happened was we've both given each other oral a couple times and hand jobs.My biggest concern was that once, before he fingered me, he had reached down in his pants to adjust himself, and didn't wash his hands before inserting his fingers in me. I don't -think- I could have gotten pregnant from that, but I'm not sure.=/Edit: Also, I can't see a doctor. I don't have a way to get there, and I can't tell my mom because if it's a STD or something she'll kill me. Is there a way I could just buy an OTC thing at the store so no one would find out?

Water has nothing to do with it.A yeast infection can be caused by many things including bad hygine, poor diet, lack of sleep, tight clothing, and other reasons.ADDED: Quote:Edit: Also, I can't see a doctor. You need to see a doctor to find the right medicine for you.

Well, I haven't really been eating all that well lately, and over the past week or so I've been staying up much later than usual (such as 4am, like right now, mainly to finish working on his present and get homework done). So, do you think that could have caused it?I'm still really worried, sorry to be such a pest...

No one can know for sure, but it's a possiblity.

Um, I also have another question. Will this just go away on it's own? I don't have a way to get to a doctor where I live. The only way would be to ask my mom to drive, and I can't tell her. I'm also really ashamed of what I look like, and I really don't want some stranger poking around down there and probably laughing to themselves if I can help it. =/

Planned Parenthood!!!I'm sure you have buses where you live or your boyfriend can give you a lift. And no, this will not go away on it's own. You need to see a doctor. Every woman needs to see a gynecologist. It's vital for our health. If you're nervous, you can bring someone with you.

Then walk or ask a friend. Do whatever it takes.Or just tell your mom. A yeast infection doesn't mean you're having sex.Either way, you can't avoid it. You need a doctor.

Why would she kill you if you're not having sex???And no, they will not. They have a policy on privacy.

That's silly. And if she honestly believes you caught some kind of infection because you're touching yourself, she needs a bit of a lesson.
Like I said, there are many reasons on why it happens. Sex doesn't have to happen.
ADDED:
I just want to point out that I've been throwing "yeast infection" out there. Just to clear it up, it may be a yeast infection or something else. That's why it's important to see a doctor who can correctly tell what you have. -
It's best to get a doctor's opinion. You can get a yeast infection without sex, and it's not normally considered an STD (even though sex is one way of passing it on). However if that's really not possible, anonymous12345, you can get stuff at a pharmacy without prescription for a yeast infection, and it won't hurt you to use it.
-
Just get a yeast infection treatment from the store. You don't need a doctor for that.

Yeast infections are so normal, it's funny. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that your mom has had one in her life. This sounds exactly like what happens to me, actually. When I let my health slip (not eating right or sleeping enough, too much stress, etc.), I'll start noticing the have-to-pee feeling, or I'll start to become irritated. It can also happen to me if my husband has eaten/drunk something yeasty and didn't brush his teeth before oral sex. (We figured that one out pretty quick.)An OTC treatment should be fine. You can get one that only needs to be used for one day, if you're really so scared of what your mom will think (mine was similar, so I don't blame you), and make sure you clean up before fooling around. You might want to wait until you're over the infection before doing anything intimate with your boyfriend. He could reinfect you or make it worse, and it can be passed on during sex. (Been there, done that.)Take care of yourself, and it shouldn't come back.
