I was out last night for a few drinks with some friends and we came out of the pub at about 2am. Being unruly young men, we hung around for a little while and the streets were completely devoid of people. Then suddenly a Garda (police) car came screaming down the road, lost control and crashed into a bus stop, smashing up the protective shutters of a shop. The 2 Gardaí got out of the car and were unhurt and immediately called for assistance. We watched for a little while but then wandered off home.
The next morning I went walking through the town and passed by the scene of the crash and there was nothing. The car had been removed, the bus stop had been replaced and the shutters had been fixed. There was absolutely no sign that there was ever an accident there. I told my parents about it and my dad said that there was something about it in the paper. The article said that a Garda car skidded off the road while in a pursuit but that there was no damage caused. There was no pursuit, there were no other cars, the Gardaí were just speeding!
This was amazing, this is the first cover-up that I've ever been in some way involved in! These guys must have called in some serious favours!
I just thought I'd share that for some reason...
