...for common sense. Not everyone has their heads buried in the sand over the history of this country. I think most people know and understand it...you just don't see it in the media too often (go figure).

Quote:
Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel for the Law Center, said that, "Many school officials exhibit hostility towards our nation's Christian heritage."
*sound the buzzer*
sorry Rick, wrong answer but thanks for playing. The article made some sense till there. The poster referred to god, as does the constitution. The concern for Muslim children was not raised by Muslims. But then someone had to toss in the Christian foundation fallacy and display his true political stripe.
oh well

oh dear, those scary liberals again eh?
well, I'm sure that if the conservatives had their way, there wouldn't even be heathen Muslims allowed in your good Christian public school system.
But, far be it from enlightened men like you and me to pass blanket judgments on a group based on the highly vocal individuals therein.
back when Christianity was fared highly in the public education system, that was truly a violation of the rights of the nonchristian families in that public system. As that was rectified, unfortunately the pendulum swung to the other extreme and different people find their rights violated.
Can you envision a balance in the future? -

It's those nasty, conservative Christians that created a Constitution that grants the freedom for all to believe as they will. You were proven wrong before you were even born on that one. Quote:back when Christianity was fared highly in the public education system, that was truly a violation of the rights of the nonchristian families in that public system.Nope. No more than it is today. Quote:Can you envision a balance in the future? The balance existed when this country was created. It was just that 98% of the folks who lived here were Christian. The liberal athiests aren't so much athiests as they are anti-Christians...otherwise they'd be harassing the Muslims as well. The liberals are the ones who have upset the balance and caused the trouble.Question to you...do you think that if the majority of folks in this country were Muslim that Christians would be allowed the same rights of religious freedom as Muslims are now? There's a lesson there...if you're astute enough to pick up on it.

Religion eh?Does humanity still turn to that?

That, my friend, is a very interesting thought. And possibly worthy of deeper ponderance than you may think.
If your founders had been escaping Islamic oppression rather than Christian oppression in the "old world", then it's quite possible that they may have formed a new liberal nation on the same precepts upon which America was founded.
Ironically, conservative Islam represents all that you find objectionable about that religion.Of course, it's an irrefutable fact that major churches and cathedrals exist in most if not all Islamic states, but you knew that.

There's a lesson there...if you're astute enough to pick up on it. Consider for a moment that you're actually not comparing two batches of apples. You're comparing apples to oranges and saying simply that the oranges are more orange. The United States has a little sheet of paper that I know you're aware of, that was written by Christian people. And fortunately, these were not Dark Ages Christians, but clear-thinking Christians with enough morals to give the people the power they need to overthrow the government should the need arise. But, there is also a simple fact that allows Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindi, Buddhists, and so on from there, to live in the States with security. The government, state or federal, has no place in meddling with religious freedoms.Frankly, it's impossible to answer your question. When did the majority of the country become Muslim, in your little query? Are they exactly as they are about their religion as Christians are about theres? Are the leaders Muslim, or simply the majority of the people? Muslims are not all one group, one person, one magnitude. And neither are Christians. Most Atheists and Agnostics are not simply against the idea of Christianity, that's hyperbole created by paranoia. Atheists and Agnostics, the ones that are calm, I'll once again emphasize, just want people to shut their traps about the stupid thing already.(As for the original reason for the article? The party trying to stop the teacher is wrong. But it's not a "victory against the liberals". It's a victory for common sense. Nothing. More.)

The results of the latest census should prove revealing. In other words, my question was hypothetical...not historical. Quote:As for the original reason for the article? It is both...since it is liberals that continually violate common sense in this very manner across the country. This is not the first incident of its kind...nor will it be the last.
