I Personally Live in Canada i was driving with my mom and we started to talk about gas prices. Its at 1.10 a liter and they said 1.50 by summer. Like hell i want to get a car but i won't be able to afford 1.50 a liter and maybe 2 at the end of the year. And Min Wage is 8 right now. and its going up to 8.50 but it doesn't HELP us out! Because When Min. Wage Goes up EVERYTHING goes up. WHATS Happening to this world by the time i get to 18 Houses will be 1 million each i bet and no one will be able to fucken LIVE. And this fucken thought is stuck in my mind and i cannot get over it. I rather be dead.

Our World

1.10 what? euro?
Gas in NC is $3 right now, and minimum wage is $6.15, so I don't know what you're complaining about. -
Get used to it and adapt. Everyone feels the same.I pay close to $3.50/gal and I can't even afford to buy a house in the area where I live.
-
our dump of a house is worth 1 million atm
price for gas here is 1.80 - 2 NZ dollars, but I havent checked recently, min wage is about $9.50 (kids) or something and adults is $11.25
-
Gas is $2 and min. wage is $9.50? Wtf?So am I correct to assume it's worst in the US?I know min. wage in California is $7.50 or something, and gas is $3.50In NC min. wage is $6.15 and gas is $3In Canada min. wage is $8.50 and gas is $1.50So we in the US get screwed?
-
You also need to consider the exchange rate and cost of living in various areas of this country or the world.
Calif minwage is now $8.00
-
everything in new zealand is also relatively cheapI think australia has a min wage of $18/hour or something like that or it might have been for working in a bar, I cant remember
-
Again.. that $18 means nothing to us here...http://www.docep.wa.gov.au/lr/labourrela...ge Rates.htmlExchange rate:Currency Conversion Results Symbol Australian Dollar ExchangeRate U.S. Dollar Bid Ask AUDUSD=X 18 Jan 4 0.8737 15.7275 0.8737 0.8740 Wow... $18 AUD = $15.7 USD Actually your minimum wage is about $12 USD.. but even that is really high!
-
You also need to consider the exchange rate and cost of living in various areas of this country or the world. I understand that, but doesn't the ratio of min. wage to gas not mean anything?
-
I dought that's correct.
It's about $13. 90 Aus for adults
Which is about $12. 20 US I think.
I didn't really get how good we get it in NZ till this visit to the UK, Farrrk petrols expensive here.
-
Well if you use that as some sort of indicator .. sure...Also the $1.5 for gas in Canada is 1.5 x 3.7 = 5.55/Gal Canadian dollars
-
from the NZHerald (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/topic/story.cfm?c_id=1500966&objectid=10485360)"Petrol is up 5c a litre to 175.9c for 91 octane and 180.9c for 95, and diesel now costs 6c more a litre at 130.9c."
-
Well if you use that as some sort of indicatorI was actually asking you if it was appropriate to use that ratio or not, but I guess the question mark at the end threw you off or something
-
yeah I was saying that I don't know if that's a good indicator or not.
-
Ah, I simply must've misunderstood your words then =/
-
Lets see, Ireland is about €1.30 per litre, which is about €4.92 per US Gallon. That's about US$7.42 per Gallon. And our minimum wage is €8.65 per hour, or US$12.76.
-
I live in California, where gas prices are the highest in the US. last time I checked it was $3.50 per gallon I think. It's even higher in the San Francisco area. and, ya, minimum wage in California is about $8. I think it's that's the highest in our country too. what's the federal minimum wage?? isn't it like $5.25 or something???
-
isn't it like $5.25 or something??? $6.15
-
He's right... I was working for lower than that at my last job... it was just to have some extra money, you know... be able to get gas. I quit when I found out what minimum wage was... But! I'm going to work there again, under another job position... even though I pretty much held that position before along with just being the dishwasher... after I left, they had another person quit and they are struggling every day. Sooo... I'm going back and getting waiter's minimum wage which is $2.95 or something like that...
-
Well it's not $5.15 (anymore) but it's not $6.15 either (I thought I heard someone say this).http://www.laborlawcenter.com/state-Minimum-Wage-rates.asp?gclid=CLmwudH-4pACFQ6CPAoddBzuVwRight now the federal minimum wage is $5.85. On July 24th it will be $6.55 and next year on the same date it will be $7.25
