only to add back 2 years at most!!! Okay, so I'm actually writing a post that doesn't have anything to do with sex or my body for once, lol. Anyway, I'll try to make this as short as possible.Alright, so I WAS in my 4th year of college, I only had one semester left (looking back, I guess I could see it coming, but not when I first started)...the problem...I couldn't stand the 2nd major I chose in the end. I tried to stick it out since I was almost done, but I couldn't do it. My college wouldn't let me change to a 3rd major because of a policy and because they think I don't fit in there anyway. The sad part of this all was that I was never on probation, I just couldn't find something and end up liking it. At FIRST the 2nd major I chose started out alright, but in the end it just I couldn't stand it...it wasn't what I thought it would be.So now I have transferred colleges...the college I went to before has, I'd say much higher standards than the one I'm going to now and I feel like this is never going to end. I mean the one I'm going to now IS a good school in some majors they feature, they even actually have a major which describes exactly what I want to do. At my other college, I tried choosing the major that best fit what I thought I would like to do which is web-designing and graphics stuff, but I guess Mass Communications wasn't it, cuz they didn't have a graphic design major...I'm curious to know how some of your college experiences went or are going through. And what would you do if you were 3/4 of the way done only for shit to happen. I wasn't too happy about it, and neither were my parents obviously for financial reasons, I know it costs much, it's just that I couldn't do it. Would you give up?I'm not happy at the place I am now, but at least I'm majoring in something that is what I want to do I guess.I am very envious of my ex...his whole family, he knew exactly what he wanted to do from the get-go, they're all engineers and they're all very good at it. My family's into the Business, but alas, I wasn't good at Business, it wasn't in my genes, heh.

It's quite normal to lose motivation sometime during a college course. When this happens, by all means consider if you should be in another program, but don't use the loss of motivation as your only evidence, because this can happen to anyone in any program of studies.Often, after consideration, it is clear that the best thing to do is grit your teeth and finish, even though you are no longer enjoying it. The ability to keep working when you don't enjoy it is an important one, which you'll have to use from time to time in your work as well.

sigh, it feels like i'm going to go to school for the rest of my life, heh. and i also think karma has something to do with this, too. because usually, i can get by school with at least satisfactory grades and just graduate with that but i guess this time just didn't cut it since i hated the major and couldn't stick with it because i hated it that much. =(

I am somewhat in a similar situation. I started a course of study, decided I didn't really care for the reality of that being my career, but now, loads of what I learned comes in handy, and I am considering finishing my degree. I had other circumstances that occurred too and I quit going, BIG mistake!

the college i go to now is pretty much all of the high school graduates in my area combined, adults, and with a few exceptions of people from out of town. it's not exactly a community college, it's a bit better than those. i was kind of but not really shocked to run into one of my old kind of friends from high school. i literally had not seen him since maybe like '04 and he told me he went to purdue for 3-3 1/2 years for engineering but then for some reason he wanted to see what the college we're going to now had to offer with technology. i'm not exactly sure why he did that but i guess that made me feel a little better to know i'm not alone like that. although i'm pretty sure i'm the only one in my senior class from my old school to be pretty closed to being finished then transferring schools.well that is good u are considering finishing ur degree, i hope it works out for u this time, too. like my friend's brother, he graduated from Notre Dame with some degree, and right now, he's not even using his degree for a job. i dunno i guess it works out for some people like that sometimes.
