Yeah, I got just the grinder. It doesn't have a guide. I can clean, bone and wrap a dear in 60mins or less, but I can't friggin sharp a saw to save my life unless I got a guide. And don't forget, every saw is different, and you need a different angle for every wood....I usually try to stick to my oak and madrone so I don't have to change anything...But friggin pine, eats it up every time.I ALSO don't loan my saw to anyone who has not proven their ability to me on their OWN saw....

Dremmels and chainsaws

The guide is good, Id never use my dremel to doa deer though. a hand bone saw, a good sharp knife, and a boning knife... I butcher those fuckers on teh mountain and pack out the meat and leave allt eh toher shit on the hillside for the birds and coyotes to eat. when I get home, I cut em into steaks or chops or what not and run the scrap through a grinder for burger, some into the grinder again with some pork fat for sausage.

ROTF! Dremmel...cleaning a dear. The immage is just...just....Like something my 10 yr old would try....Yeah, I got my tools for the "meat on the table" vs. wood in the fire, and my construction stuff....I got more tools and experience in everything but electricity and automobiles than my man..loland yet, I have a vegetarian in the group...WTF???
-
I was really confused (and that snot easy as im sober) in our convo about a dremmel and you cleaning a deer.
-
ROTF! I re read it 3 times to find out what was confusing, still don't quite get it, all I can figure is that the grinder got you!!!!
-
Well the grinder was it...the dremmel has grinding attachments, I can do detail work in cutting, grinding, wire brushing, carving, engraving, all that shit and more witha dremmel. you just got the grinder? with my experience in dremels I assumed ya meant the grinding stones for the dremmel, I knew it wasnt right, but fucked if I could figure out what ya meant by it.
-
LOL, yup, I have the bit that will sharpen a saw, but no guide to use it myself. I can do some great stuff with wood with the dremmel but I can't hold a good angle to throw a sharp on a saw. The deer came in because, I CAN do that, in a flash, and do it well, but can't even sharpen my own tools....
-
so no connection between the dremmel and the deer?
FUCK MAN! ok Im caught up now now ti makes sense, I was connecting dots that should of been tied together.
wanna fuck with people?
I did it first in 7th grade art class, but have since done some with the dremmel. (that tool did not exist when I was in JR High or Id of used it!)
take a solid block of wood, carv it into a rectangle, somewhat ornate on the outside then carve a top and a pole in each corner and a bottom. now carve 3 balls inside the 4 posts.
I did the first one with a pocket knife and it took fucking weeks, but I got a good grade on it  it was maybe 3 inches high and 1 inch square.
the carving was the shits the sanding was a real bitch but in teh end I had a solid piece of wood that people could figure out how I got the balls inside, they refused to belive me that it was all from a single piece of wood (pine is good for it, balsa is faster, oak is great but a real pain in the ass)and the balls were carved inside the block not added later.
with a dremmel you can do it in a day if ya dont do shit aside from it.
that dremmel will even sand it and use the wire brushes to clean the shit out of tiny lines and corners. -
LOVE IT! I got a chunk sitting in my garage to use even...I won't blow a whole day on it but I will definitely get working on it...The only thing I am missing is my air compressor to airbrush...wouldn't that be cool? Different colored balls too!!!
-
what helps the kmost is a attachment that goes on teh dremmel and is about 3 feet long, the dremmel runs it, but it makes it like using a dremmel thats as big as a pencil, just a tube really that gets set in teh dremmels chuck and makes the end of the tube teh dremmel tool.
my air brushes are uhhh not brushes, I have sprayers for painting walls and buildings  you could however sand it all when done and stain it. if you cover each part you do not want dyed in hair conditioner or even masking tape the stain wont dye it, then you wash it off, cover teh otehr parts in it again and stain teh next color on tehnext part.
tape is easier and less messy to work with, but can be a pain in the ass. -
I've been sort of drooling over that attachment...Love the flexibility idea..As far as air brushing...mine aren't brushes either. Little jars with a fine sprayer on the end. I just don't have the air....at least right now.I figured, it dries faster than a brush, lol, In other words, I might actually get it done...I hate brush painting, but I can do my cutting faster by hand than if I were to tape...sooooo...

I have a small compressor, I think I paid something like 100 bucks for it. it includes the attachment like a dremmel and even uses dremmel tools in it.you can pump up your truck tire with it as well plugged into any 110 volt duplex outlet.its great for shit like that, but would never run tools like nail guns, its more detail and craft type of shit oriented.I got it at a shop in salt lake that specalizes in stained glass shit. They dont sell completed stuff, just the tools and sheets of glass and shit you need for doing your own stained glass work. I dont do glass shit, but that compressor has saved my ass many times before I dropped the cash on the dremmel and accessories. I still use it sometimes, but not as much as the dremmel.its maybe 12 pounds and the air hose to the chuck for inserting tools is about 12 feet long.
-
Nice...I will have to look around. My big compressor is too big to haul around, I want a smaller one. As far as nails...I don't usually do 16 penny or anything, mostly finish nailing...would it work for that? Then I could save the big one for running my wrenches and stuff here at home.
-
its made for carving, and grinding the edge of glass, it wouldnt even run a air staple gun, just not meant for anything like that
