when people prove me wroung, or when i am wroung i admit it, but im not going to say that im wroung on this.ive seen it happen multiple times, my cousin himself gained height from playing basketball!so like i said its whatever i dont care, say what u must, but until u go out and test it yourself AND THEN give me your conclusion im sticking to what i know...and also i dont think this applies to older people, but i know that for teenagers and young adults, i've seen it work.. (im not saying it works for adults, cause i havent seen it work on them yet.)

I want to discipline my fighting.

Why...just...why?

omg... lol you two are like kids, where everytime i say black, they say white, i say blue, they say red, i say milk they say soda.
No, what we say is fact. What you say is a bunch of nonsense. If you're going to say something that's factual, for the love of all things holy, BACK IT UP!Don't worry, I'll show you how.

playing sports does help your body, and if you start young playing sports your body does stretch,
No, stretching and growing are two very different things._Stretching is the deliberate act of lengthening of muscles, in order to increase muscle flexibility and/or joint range of motion (Weerapong et al 189--206). _
The epiphyseal plate is the hyaline cartilage plate in the metaphyses of children and adolescents. The longitudinal growth of these bones occurs primarily at these plates. At the end of puberty, the epiphyseal cartilage cells stop duplicating and the entire cartilage is slowly replaced by bone, leaving only epiphyseal lines in their previous location. Bone growth stops.
Read and learn please. Even you can now understand that there's a clear difference. Now, if you can't back up your words, then please do the world a favor and shut up.

its called adaption, when your body does things consistently it adapts to it. that is why, football players are buff and remain at a good 6'2-6'6 height
No, it's called exercise and training. That's why they are big and are good at what they do. Natural selection has nothing to do with it.Quote:
your body is going to get longer, and you will gain an increase in your vertical jump...
Grow taller? No. Increase your jump? Possibly.Quote:
if your constantly stretching your body in sports, and jumping, your body IS going to stretch to accommodates the needs your body is trying to reach.
Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. Honestly, how wrong can one person be?Quote:
theres no point in it, statistically wise, its possible, as so many other athletes have done it,
Please prove it. I would love it if you can show me a link or two. Please prove to me how smart you are.Quote:
basketball rim 500-1000 times a day, for a month or two straight. and then tell me and prove to me and alot of other people that it's not possible
That's your jumping distance, not your height. There's a difference.
Listen kid, if you're going to talk the talk, then you better walk the walk. Backing up your claims is not that hard to do, unless you're bullshiting. Please learn. Pick up a dictionary and do your brain a favor. You'll make everyone happy.
Go back to school.

ive seen it happen multiple times, my cousin himself gained height from playing basketball! The more you continue with your logic.. the more ridiculous you sound..Your cousin would have gained that same height if played with himself.

ok, i said it already im not going to argue with you two...but one last thing, virtual star, if you cant stretch your body, then how is it african tribes can stretch there necks and spines? but what i was really going to say is, i made this post for tips on how i can become a more disciplined fighter, not a debater. please if you have nothing of usefulness to add to the post, just ignore it.

Your false information needs to be put to rest. If you keep spouting nonsense as fact then someone is going to believe it.

Quote:but one last thing, virtual star, if you cant stretch your body, then how is it african tribes can stretch there necks and spines? From what I found, it's an illusion. But these are links to the women in Thailand, not African tribes. Secret of the Giraffe Women The "Giraffe" Women of the Neck Rings The Karen ADDED: I should clarify something because you're still not getting it. I clearly said that stretching is lengthening of the muscles to increase flexability. Bones have nothing to do with it! The reason you see these long-necked women is due to body modification.Bones give your body stucture. Muscles are what helps your body move. That is why these are two very different things. This is why you're looking like a fool for trying to convince everyone that an apple is also an orange. Quote:please if you have nothing of usefulness to add to the post, just ignore it. I would but the problem is you type false information and someone's going to believe it.I don't pick at your posts because I have something against you. I don't even know you. But I pick at you because you spread bullshit. This isn't the place for that.

ok well honestly, my suggestion isnt going to hurt him...
go play basketball, ok so you 'cant' stretch/lengthen your body/height, but you will become healthier, have better hand eye coordination, and ALSO increase your jump height.. those are all good attributes for an MMA fighter, so either way, its not going to hurt him...
but i do understand where your going with that...
-
Understood. And as long as you understand, we can all be happy.
-
Basketball will NOT help you grow taller, that's just ridiculous.

i think your a little late on trying to disagree with me...

Well as far as the boxing goes i have no problem with that. I may not have the reach (I never have and probably never will) so i have become accustom to my strengths and weaknesses. Im not going to sit there and try to Jab Straight someone with my reach, i either get on the inside or i counter punch or a combination of both. I have a very unique style that i have developed over the years and i know how to use it.Ive put a few kids 6'0+ out with my style because i have a heavy right hand and good tactics. As far as taking punches thats what im best at. Ive never been Knocked out the closest ive came was against a kid 5'10 200lbs who had been boxing 10 years, he rocked me around for 2 and a half minutes before i got the guts to start throwing punches, he put me down numerious times and had me rocked more times then i remember, after 2 and a half minutes i realized he couldnt put me out and i started thowing bombs, ended up bloodying up his nose and lip and we mutually decided to stop the fight. So im not to worried about taking punches (I was abused as a child so in my eyes nothing anyone can do to me now can compare to what happened to me when i was 7) As far as grappling im very strong for a 112lber. Im very good at getting people to the ground and getting them there. I dont see how reach would really affect grappling i think my strong compact body works alot better then a lengthier type, the only advantage reach would have is in a Muay Thai clinch. And as far as the whole bagging on my size thing, i dont take it personally. Im fine with my size and i have no problem with being short, I am who i am.
