I know condoms are still recommended with the pill.. however, is there any real point to a condom when using an IUD? Local school nurse gave the "all clear" to toss condoms after IUD and most resources seem to deem it "safe" figured I would weigh in here.Also.. I doubt its a factor but, is rough sex still safe? Its my first partner however, she says the sex we have is fairly rough soooo.Oh also I feel the need to throw out a disclaimer so some asshole doesn't read this the wrong way. When I say "rough sex" I am not A. bragging and B. I am not saying it is or isn't. C. I just do my best to follow her instructions so its not like I am trying to be rough or not.. I do what she wants to the best of my abilities. So any danger in rough sex with an IUD?

IUD

first off, when you say safe, you are saying for pregnant yes? not for std?and I used to bang a girl with one, it has a srping feeling thing on the end of it that poked me in teh dick! it hurt, I could get the whole thing in her because it caused me pain, she seemed to not notice the difference.by rough I assume your talking harder faster?Id advise against that for your sake.

It does not protect against STD's so I would recommend a condom for that reason. As for pregnancy, I don't know the actual numbers, but my guess is it is probably 99.9% effective against pregnancy. But that is just my guess. I have an IUD and have had it for two years....no new babies for me. I have never felt pain when having rough sex. Has your girlfriend complained of pain? If you hit a woman's cervix there is pain regardless if they have an IUD or not.As for the strings from the IUD poking you (like Chance said), that doesn't happen in all cases. My boyfriend cannot feel them. In fact, I am supposed to check every month for those strings and I can never feel them. I had my boyfriend searching around for them when I first got it and he couldn't find them either. I went back to the doctor of course and sure enough, it was still there.

all I know is it felt like a spring sticking out poking me in the head of my dick!
couldnt put it all th way in her, and couldnt go hard and fast as I got carried away and poked by the bastard! -
Maybe it was falling out and the tip was protruding from the cervix. That happens. It's supposed to rest deep in teh uterus with only the string protruding.

Yeah, I have heard that. But he has been having sex with her and isn't complaining about being poked. So he must not feel them, right? Maybe they changed the material on the new ones. My sister has one too and her husband doesn't feel it either.

no idea, I only know what I felt when I was banging away on her.I didnt even know what the hell an IUD was, just that it meant she wasnt gonna get knocked up.

Ok to clear up the confusion.A. I am talking about pregnancy prevention.B. The girl in question has gotten an std check. She did it shortly after we started dating without so much as me asking.C. By rough I do mean harder and fasterD. As to hitting the cervix.. it can be hard not to.. it sucks yes.. however, she knew I was a virgin from the get go so she knew we would have to work on it.. I still hit it a lot however, as time goes on my sensativity seems to be going up and I seem to notice more what I am doing soo.. its getting better with time I think..

Quote:How effective is an intrauterine device? The intrauterine system possesses a failure rate of less than 1%. This means that fewer than one out of every 100 IUD users will become pregnant during the first year of use. http://www.americanpregnancy.org/preventingpregnancy/iud.htmlI think you two will be ok, but the IUD (and other birth control)is not 100%. I have had it for two years and have been fine, but there is always that 1% chance I could get pregnant. I was on the birth control pill for years and never got pregnant, but there are a few members here that have gotten pregnant while on the pill. I guess you just have to decide if you want to take that chance.
