Haha, I didn't think they allowed porn, links to porn, or any porn related material on the site. I know it's an advertisement. I'm just curious, lol.
-
<--any reason for the porn movie advertisement?
-
What are you talking about? I don't see anything. Maybe your computer is infected with adware or something.
-
I doubt it's from this site.
-
i see the advertisement as well...
maybe since A2A is a free site, they dont judge on Who pays them for the advertisement... i mean i know if i had a free site and someone said ill give u X amount of dollars a month for a picture on the side and alink when the pic is clicked on, i'd say yes...
-
When I use IE, I also see pop ups but they have nothing to do with porn. So, I'm guessing it's adware because I also doubt it's from this site.
-
I see no porn from this site.
-
Yeah I see an advertisement for "Deepthroat" and other "classic adult movies"...
-
Hmm, something fishy is going on. I haven't see anything, yet.Advertising works when the owner asks for sponsers. I can bet this site is very expensive because of these forums. The bandwidth must be monsterous. So, for us to use it without paying a fee, the owner needs sponsers. They give money to help support the site and they get ad space in return. In other words, an owner of a domain has complete control. They chose what goes on their site, including ads. If they need help financially, then that's where ads come in. Depeding how advertising is done, they are not usually generated by keywords. But I really, really doubt the owner of this site allowed some porn peddler to advertise on this site, seeing how a large portion of the forum members are minors.Maybe certain people can see this ad depending on what browser they're using?
-
He's talking about that... this
-
Thanks for that! No wonder I can't see it. When I visit the forums, I'm never in the frames. I always break away from frames because it's just too cramped when viewing the boards.
-
I never use the website with frames.. Why don't you all just bookmark this link?http://www.afraidtoask.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/ubb/cfrm
-
So, is this site intensionally peddling porn now?
-
Yeah.. Isn't that what this audience wants? This site uses an Ad service. It doesn't specify the ads or content that know of. I don't know how the service works though.
-
Quote:Yeah.. Isn't that what this audience wants?pporn! woohoo yea baby! rhymes with corn!

I'm bored and curious...This site uses another site called tribalfusion.com for their advertising. It uses JavaScript to rotate the banner ads. But when I look into this porn ad, it looks like it's been placed there purposely. It's imbedded in the table that holds the side image links (menu in the left frame) and it's a regular link, not JavaScript. And the ad image url is coming from afraidtoask.com's main image folder. What's even more interesting is the link directs to the movie page and on top of that page, there's a forward link to the Masturbation Guide here on afraidtoask. This new ad is not in every section under afraidtoask, just a few.Someone's been playing with this site's HTML.ADDED:Nevermind, it seems that it was put there purposely, but I just never bothered browsing through the entire site. That ad link is the same links in the Masturbation and Pornography page.
-
Hmmm.... I never looked at that page. I sent an email to the owner.
-
I hope the adds are removed soon. This site linking to porn makes me feel rather uncomfortable answering questions that minors have. It sorta scuttles the whole thing of a safe place for Q & A that remains above the fray.

Yup same here, which is why I never noticed these links.
Look forward to seeing what the owner says.
