this is so... so very bad. But I used to mock people who when I was speaking with them and they made ignorant comments like "you speak so eloquently for a black girl" and then I'd respond with "oh werd! you was expectin' me to talk like dis? dat aint coo fa sho!" role my eyes and walk away.

Food for thought.
-
lol thank you! you don't know how many times I've been condemned for that.
-
Doing something right should never be a source of scorn!!!!This statement is true. But in reality, you need to replace "should never be" with "usually is" and that's closer to how things are in the real world.People get mad at other people who get good grades, for example. Or if you're good in a class and you let it show, you're a teacher's pet.Examples could go on for quite a while.

A large amount of illegals in the U.S. are Irish, so much in fact that the Irish government are trying to set up an amnesty sort of thing with the American government to allow Irish illegals to visit home and return. Not all illegal immigrants, of course, but people who have lived there for years and have set up strong ties with the country. So many Irish people haven't seen their family in decades because they can't leave America or else they'd never get back in and lose everything.
-
I heard they're the second largest group of illegals in the states. I don't remember exactly but I know the numbered in the millions.Last I heard, probably about two or three months ago, amnesty for the Irish was expected to go through without any problems....I guess amnesty for illegals is fine as long as they're skin tone is pale.wipes off shit stirring stick

So many Irish people haven't seen their family in decades because they can't leaveSo because of that, the Irish government is trying to make a deal with the US to let them return? That's pretty damn stupid, IMO.
-
Stupid of the US or Irish?
-
Both, I guess. It's the Irish people's fault they are in the states illegally, and now they want to go home and visit their families and asking the US to allow them to enter, illegally, again.
-
That is true to an extent. Plus it's not publicized at all. How do they get here, anyways?
-
How? Come on vacation and disappear into the crowd. I know illegal people from Serbia here. Some eventually get papers to stay;some don't and are on the run.. Same for any other national.
-
That's really interesting. I had no idea about the Irish.
-
A large amount of illegals in the U.S. are Irish Large compared to what? I highly doubt there are THAT many illegal Irish compared to Hispanics and Asians. I'm sure they are just a drop in the bucket compared to other nationalities.See Table 5: http://www.cis.org/articles/2005/back1405.html

lucky charms!Irishmen are sexii... for example, Colin Farrell, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Bobaliciousness. My favorite singer Enya. and another singer I love though not official, Carly Smithson. So irrelevant but this is funny, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzjVcn6pZgo

The request is mainly aimed at Irish people who arrived in the U.S. in the 1980's when about 50,000 Irish people left the country due to a horribly declining economy. It also happened in the 1950's when close to 80,000 people left. Altho obviously not all of these people went to America (a large amount went down to Australia), a reasonably big amount did and not everyone were able to get Green Cards. They had used all of their money to get there and couldn't turn back, so they stayed illegally. There is a website that actually takes pictures of people's old homes, towns, schools, etc... for those that can't return for either legal or financial reasons. http://www.irishhomepictures.com

Ya know, we can't even get Lucky Charms over here! They stopped selling them years ago, I only know of one shop that we can get them and they import them from England.
-
no lucky charms in Ireland?! what kind of nonsense is that? cheapskapes!
-
Again, they are in the US illegally, so if they leave, what makes them think they should be allowed to re-enter?If that's the case, then why don't we just screw these laws and open teh borders to everyone! Stay here however long you like, and don't even bother about legality! We'll let you back in anyway.
