Check Me Out
-
ok, dude, I really don't mean to be an ass man...however I have a simple question.
Name of song: Catch me in da hood.
Is Montebello, California...and actual hood?
-
Lol.
-
im not talking about montebello.. im actually talkin bout hialeah florida aka dade countybut montebello is a shootem up type neighborhood... i wouldnt say ghetto poverty, i'd say ghetto violence...
-
Dade county makes more sense lol gotcha mang.
-
pfft if you want "ghetto" violence you need to come to Mount Vernon, New York aka Murdaville where not even the cops care. dang cowards....
you could be getting raped and stabbed outside the police station and they wouldn't know it. My cousin's best friend got beat up after school by 3 rookies from the Crypts outside of the stupid police department and not one cop noticed this poor kid bleeding on the sidewalk. honestly... what are they good for? just being trigger happy. "he has a gun! shoot him!" meanwhile it's a marker.

Don't pick on cops. Most of them have a wife, kids, friends and are actually trying to make the world a better place. They do what they can, but with their current resources if they did what you're asking most would be dead within the year. Some areas are just plain dangerous, even for a cop, and like anyone else they get scared, and they don't want to die.
-
This is not to pick at you sweetie, but this is just something I want to throw out there.I never really understood why people say, "You think that's bad, come to 'insert city here'." Almost all major cities are dangerous and bad things happen when you least expect it. But it doesn't mean one city is "badder" than the other. It's nothing to be proud of, so why start?I live in Los Angeles and LAPD has quite the reputation across the nation. I also live in a poor, gang-infested ghetto district but I don't think that makes my life any harder or makes me street-smart or tougher.I'm not sure where I'm going with this but I just felt like saying it.
-
really? most cops kill no... murder young men who are fathers, sons, brothers, and uncles who have children and wives. I'm not going to generalize cops as ruthless cold-hearted monsters which is EXACTLY what some of the are.you really think someone who can shoot a young innocent man over 30 times is normal in the head? pump his body full of lead and feel no remorse? get outta hear.my step dad who used to beat my brothers senseless was turned down from the police force for being too soft..... yes they are SUPPOSED to serve and protect. Doesn't mean they always do their job. I don't feel safe around cops. I know what they can do and it's scary. They have power and if you mess with them you're digging your own grave. This is America after all.
-
yea I gotcha. I just really dislike my city. I can't wait to get out of here and go to college and move to like... Australia. I don't like the "I had it rough" story. It's nothing to be proud about. I would gladly like to have one of those "My daddikins bought me a new ferrari" kind of stories instead. But I don't. And I know for a fact my city isn't "badder" than others. I'm just... tired of having to look over my shoulder and make sure I'm in good shape to make a run for it. Ever since I got jumped I've been so paranoid. I think Leah and Chance remember. Or Kristal ... one of them I told. And it just makes me dislike this place even more.
-
I really wish I knew what good police force you guys are talking about. The soldiers dying over seas. Them I love and have gratitude. And I'm sorry if I come off harsh, I know I do. But I do not... really do not trust cops. It's just me. I have issues with them so don't mind me. You can't trust anybody really you just have to look out for yourself when it come down to it.
-
No, I needed to apologize because I know there are policemen who are good and heroes and love their country and really do aim to protect the people. They've prevented things... from getting worse and whatnot. I just have personal dislikes for them.
-
I never said all, bud. In fact I made it clear I knew it wasn't all. I'm not that naive :eyes:
I've never experienced getting pulled over and accused of being rude. But if I had dealt with that instead I don't think I'd be so scared of cops and hesitant to call upon them.
-
lol murdaville? try going to new orleans, magnolia... i can tell u stories about death's there that would make u throw up and wish that i wouldnt of told u...
-
they're cornballs! lol they think they're "down" because they bully people around.
and no thanks, I'd rather skip out. I'm a fantasy dork of a girl who likes Classical and New Age Music, playing soccer, and reading Charles Dickens and Jane Austen books. I don't care for the hood and it's death stories lol
-
where did I say all?
-
Charles Dickens, yes. Jane Austin, booooring. But now I understand where you're coming from about the issue with cops and NYC, so no need to apologize or nothing. It's nice to learn something new everyday. I tried to read "Pride and Prejudice" but I just couldn't get past the first two chapters.
-
lol oh come on Jane Austen is so.... well ok yeah you're kind of right. plus she never married! what up with that? It's kind of hard to compare a work by Charles Dickens to a work by Jane Austen. Did a research paper on Dickens. Loved him when I started, despised him when I finished. But he's still one of my favorite authors. Pride and Prejudice, the movie was better than the book I hear..... lolRad, yeah, that's why I apologized because I didn't want to sound like.... a bumchock lol. I've just had bad experiences; doesn't mean I need to blame the majority for what the "minority?" has done. I'm still skeptical but I'll try not to speak like that about them.

See the problem is you're stereotyping cops, and they're doing the same thing to you. When a cop looks at you, they probably see all the trash and scum (I'm not trying to offend you here) that you live with and fear everyday. They probably assume you're a gang member, carrying drugs, have 2 kids and are pregnant with your third. So they automatically become bad cops, because they assume you're a bad girl. That pushes your buttons and probably makes you react the way they'd expect a "bad girl" would.I have this problem all the time. I drive what's dubbed over here as a "hoon" car. It's loud, fast and aggressive (in looks and sound). Also, it is the car of choice for many genuine hoons. I'm also on my P plates*. So naturally I get a lot of trouble from the police, they come over expecting some young punk hoon with attitude, and treat me that way. However I treat them with respect, cooperate, don't trash up my talk with unnecessary slang and put on a friendly demeanor. Most of them very quickly come around once they realize you're not just another punk, hell, some even complement me on my car.My point is most cops are not bad. They have a very, very tough job, get paid terribly for it and worst of all get no respect for it. They are trying to be good, but for some reason most of our society, especially our young society views cops with distain.*P plates are a sign you have to display on the front and rear of your car for the first 3 years of your license, basically telling any other driver or cop that you're young.
-
"My point is most cops are not bad."That's true km, but, and it's a big ass but, there are a lot of them walking around with a chip on their shoulder working form the assumption that your a criminal. What are they basing that assumption on... I wasn't wearing my seatbelt... I was going five miles per hour over the speed limit... that's not right. You don't treat people like that, whether your job is dangerous or not. They chose that job, if it's to scary or makes them condescending and rude, having to work off prejudices, then they need to find another line of work. The problem with a lot of cops is they assume they know everything going on because cops are supposedly intuitive and capable of reading people in an instant and knowing exactly what their up to and thinking, like is portrayed on t.v. Well, that's bullshit. They're just human beings with all the same faults and flaws as everyone else. A lot of this flows from the fact that their are a lot of little guys for who standing behind a badge is the only way they feel big. So, by the very nature of the job their drawn to it. (By the way I mean "little" in self esteem.)I admit I have a prejudice against cops but that comes with reason. I have been pulled over countless times because I have a tribal tag and I get asked "how can you afford this car, boy?" I have been escorted out of town (a two mile walk) because the heap my cousin and I were driving at the time had the audacity to break down in the wrong town. I have been cuffed and searched many times because they "suspect something." What brought such suspicion... I was driving through town late at night coming back from my honeymoon... I wasn't even speeding. The exact same thing happened coming back from wife grandmothers funeral and it goes on and on.I know your thinking I must have done something. Well I didn't none of those times did ever even get a ticket, a warning, or anything. The worst thing of all, when I was sixteen the chief of police told my stepmother I was dealing drugs, among other things. Between the two of them, the police chief and my stepmother, they convinced my dad it was true. I didn't speak to my father until I was nineteen just a few months before he died.At that time I had never even seen anybody do an illegal drug much less deal in them or know anything about 'em. Hell, at the time I didn't even drink. I did like to party but for my own reasons I didn't want the inebriation. So I didn't speak to my dad for years, he and I grew apart and why. Because some friggin' cop "knew", he "knew", with his special cop intuition I was dealing drugs. And that cop "knew" I was headed to prison and he was doing my dad a favor by telling him.And that's the problem, cops think they know. Well, they don't, it's just assumption sprinkle with experience just like everyone else, their experiences are just different... but it's still unfair assumption. They don't know anything. So what do you get. Way to many times you get an arrogant, rude, bastard who treats you like a criminal and quizzes you about shit they have no reason to.Now, before anyone jumps me about it I already said not all cops are like that. Some have been very polite and friendly in finding out what they needed to. My father in law just retired from 25 years on the force (personally I think he was probably a bit of dick cop but..) my cousin is a cop, my great uncle was cop and I have a step uncle thats a cop.I'm sorry but yes, I am prejudice about cops, as a group, I see them as little more than revenuers with guns. I don't like 'em. They've given me plenty of reason not to.
