Not too long ago in grade 11 Bio, the subject of creatine came up, the teacher who also teaches health, argued that it could infact stunt your growth, I'm considering taking creatine this summer, and his opinion sounded like complete bullshit. I'm still growing so if it did in fact have a chance of stunting your growth I would stop...

There's a lot of theories about creatine floating around but no hard evidence. Simply due to the fact its a relatively new supplement and there's been no opportunity for long term study.That said, I personally don't believe it stunts your growth, but I wouldn't recommend it to you either. I guarantee you can achieve much better results by focusing on routine, diet and rest. Use creatine after you've been training a few years and plateaued at 180+ lb.

Well I need a way to gain weight, and even with mass protein it's not coming that fast, plus I've plateaued with both my biceps and my triceps, What's the harm in taking it under the age of 18?

If you're not gaining weight its because you're not eating enough. Taking creatine won't make you bigger unless you have the diet and routine to back it up.

I'm definately eating as much as possible, so it's probably just the fact that I'm 16, and growing my metabolism is extremely fast, and I need to gain fast for football.
If I did take creatine what would be a good product?

He's already told you that you shouldn't take it so why would he recommend one? Say how much and what you eat and then he'll be able to tell you that you're not eating enough still. If you're going to ask a question, take the advice that's given to you; don't just throw it out the window.

Because not eating enough is an excuse for an answer, I've been to nutritionists looked at my calorie intake and output, I don't need an answer for my diet, I'm looking elsewhere for a solution. I've heard this advice before its nothing new, if creatine doesn't stunt your growth and there has been research done on its negative effects which don't include many things, I'm going to start taking it.

Let me try an analogy.Imagine your body is a car. It currently weighs 100lb with half a tank of fuel. If you put in (eat) 10lb of fuel (food) every day, and drive around (exercise) enough to use 10lb of fuel every day, you're not going to gain or lose weight. If you put in 12lb of fuel a day, you'll gain 2lb of weight per day, or vice versa for losing weight. One day you decide to install a turbocharger (creatine) on your car, all of a sudden you get this huge boost in power, you can go faster (lift heavier weights) when you put your foot down (workout). However you're still not gaining weight because you're not putting more FUEL into your car, its only drinking the fuel more effectively.Now don't take that too seriously, obviously there are a lot of flaws in the analogy, but that's the general theory. Unless you eat more to begin with that creatine is not going to help you gain weight. Lift slightly heavier weights, maybe, but not put on the mass.

If I can lift heavier then it will put on more muscle mass correct? I've reached a plateau in a lot of the things I do. Plus the water weight will help untill my metabolism slows.I consume 3600 calories a day, and I burn 2500, yet I still don't gain weight, and it's physically impossible for me to eat anymore without throwing up.

It's all in your head, the body can handle a lot more, just suck it up and eat, and eat more energy dense food.
