do you believe in Satan/Lucifer/the devil and/or demons and spirits?and would you consider someone who is said to be demon-possessed as just mentally unstable and how do you feel about cults? what about the anti-Christ? And people who claim Lucifer as "their god" and kill people in the name of it?

So... if you don't believe in God

And sometimes, people are just lying. so you don't believe in any kind of paranormal activity at all (not the movie). like people waking up with scratches all over their bodies? people seeing things in their house, noises etc?
-
I second everything Bob said. And I don't believe in any kind of paranormal activity.
-
actually, most of the satanists I know are pretty damn peaceful folk.
-
I'd say I believe in God, but I don't follow any of the religions. Might not make sense, but I can live peacefully with it
-
I do believe that those things happen, scratches, noises, etc., but I have no reason to assign a paranormal explanation to them.
In the words of Tim Minchin:
Every mystery that was ever solved has turned out to be not-magic.
-
Quote: actually, most of the satanists I know are pretty damn peaceful folk. I second that! Maybe its a "k-Dub"I do believe in paranormal activity as Ive experienced it. And other members of my family too. But not just in my current home. Not all paranormal activity is bad to

I love cosmology and physics as it speaks to cosmology. I'm a science junkie but I've seen shit that defies simple explanation, if you wanna call it paranormal, fine. I guess that's how I would classify it. I love scientific discovery and physiological understanding but feel ultimately it's as fleeting and irrelevant as humanity is to the universe. I believe in it all and hold none of it sacred. Life is fleeting. Happiness even more so. Like Uncle George (George Carlin) the relevance that all things have to me, scientific or paranormal, is there intrinsic entertainment value. That may be simple and uninspired but enjoyment of what we know we have, here and now, is the only divine I'm sure of.

I was going to reply, but Bobbydog pretty much summed up what I would of written. As to scratches and shit, my brother when we were little in his sleep and awake, used to twist his hair up in his fist and pull out handfuls, never even knew he was doing it. Scratches on his whole body as well, all self inflicted and not once was he aware he was doing it.Iv seen plenty of shit in my house, and heard alot of noises. houses settle, makes alot of noises and the older it gets the more odd the noises. Newer houses have more settling to go and make noises more often. I do not believe in ghosts, vampires, werewolves, witches, magicians, the devil, god, or fairy tales.

I understand.. but how would you guys explain it? Alot of my Haitian family has been and still is heavily into voodoo and dealing with "dark spirits". I've seen some pretty freaky stuff... well not as much as my mom. But it stopped when we came to the states. One of the main reasons I don't like going to the Caribbean or South America. But even while here in NY there have been strange things going on with friends. It's just... I don't know it's disturbing.Because of my beliefs, I honestly think it has something to do with the spiritual world. But it's just creepy. One of my neighbors from down the street committed suicide in the most... eerie way... we havent had that many cops on our street in a while
-
You mentioned VooDoo.Did you ever think about why when dealing with dark subjects in voodoo, they not only cast a spell to kill people, or make them sick but follow it up with a poison? With no incantation at all I can kill you with poison, the results are the same.
-
mmm no... not talking about that kind of voodoo..not the type where you walk up to someone and put something in their drink or poison.. I WISH it was like that but... nah not the type I've seen
-
All of it, based on my very limited knowledge of it, requires powders and spells and rituals. Granted, most of what i know about it came from a great movie, serpent and the rainbow. That movie was true, to a degree, the character, the studies, the trips, how much beyond that was true I can not say. But really a kick ass show.
-
LOL ehh once again no. There were powders... cumin spice? I remember cumin spice cause my aunt used to make me use what was left over for the rice and curry goat (mmm) I don't remember much of anything else though. just the scary shizwant me to give you an incident and see if you can come up with a solution?actually that'd probably help me more than you haha
-
Like I said, I have a limited knowledge, and a great deal of it gleamed form hollywood movies. Voodoo was never anything popular enough where i live that i had to deal with it, so my understanding of it and what I know is pretty limited.GO ahead, give me an example, if nothing else it would increase what I know.
-
I don't try to explain it.I've seen some freaky shit, growing up where I have, and it needs no outside validation to categorize or catalog it, it just is. Real, imagined or otherwise my experience is my experience. Definitiveness never is, it's just a matter of the best current understanding. The idea that all observations and understandings must agree is, from my observation, some quasi middle-eastern-european notion that I have personally never understood. I've never had any problem with divergent experience and comprehensions. Let a thing be what it is and don't try to convert it to your plane of rationale.Like I said though, for me it comes down to entertainment value. Life is hard and for the most part dull, entertainment is important. Just to be clear I don't mean entertainment like sitting in front of stage watching shit happen. I mean interactive entertainment of a contemplative nature that takes place in the mind of the traveler.
