Wow, so, I have not been on here in forever! Wassup!?Anyway.I'm pissed, pissed, pissed! At none other than my mother. And don't think I'm being selfish... I'm not.I think it was her goal, since birth, to slowly ruin my life. Firstly, she nor my father ever motivated me. In any way, shape or form.Secondly, a few years ago, she pulled me out of school to homeschool me. That did not happen and it resulted in me dropping out. Good for me, right?Thirdly, as soon as I got a job, she felt she did not need to provide for me at all anymore. Meaning, she did not cook. Making it to where ALL of my money went to food.I eventually moved out of my mother's house and into my aunt's house because I felt it was a better living opportunity. It is.But, in doing so, I was required to quit my job, since my manager would not give me a transfer. I have been seeking new employment since. Seems like nobody is hiring, anywhere. Just a few days ago, however, my mother informed me she was kicking me off of her phone plan. Here's the catch, my aunt does not have a landline. And, with my cell phone being shut off plus not having a landline, if I were to miraculously get a call from an eager and hiring company, I would not be able to recieve the call, because my mother kicked me off of her plan to "save money", when if she wanted to save money she would make my step father get on out plan instead of standing out on his own, making our phone bills more than they should be.Basically, I'm pissed. She has not done much to help me in life. And, I feel she doesn't deserve to be a part of my life in return. But, that is probably my anger speaking. Don't get me wrong, I love my mother, I love her to death. But, I do NOT like her at all, I think she is a horrible parent and person. That is all. Have a nice day, and thankyou for taking the time out of your day to read this.-Jon.

Welcome back!I'm very sorry about the homeschooling, Jon. That is the worst failing. School inspectors are supposed to make sure that homeschooled children are being properly homeschooled - evidently that did not happen. If you had a full-time job it would be reasonable that you would contribute towards domestic costs. If all your salary went on your food and you were working full-time, either you were being paid well below the minimum wage, or you were buying very badly. It would be well not to rely on your mother for anything. I would think you should be discussing your situation with social security, especially your options for completing high school or other education. I don't know the US system well - here under the circumstances you would be given an allowance sufficient to live on (frugally) while you completed your education.

They didn't have a full-time position available at the restraunt I was empoyed with. So, I was making 2.13 an hour, plus I was tipped out, but, with the economy and all, I wasn't making enough money at all. An, on the schooling subject, I am not able to go back into high school, as I wouldbe 21 by the time I graduate, so, they apparently want to try to keep that sort of thing out of the school system, what with my adult-ness and ability to drink alcohol legally. I already asked a bunch of people at the schools about it, theonly thing I can do is get my GED. And, that is going to take a bit of work, considering, I don't have any high school education really, and math, the main subject on the test, is NOT m stronget point. Especially when it's algebra... I can barely mulitply on my own... I can't divide on my own... Math phails...

You've spoken before about going into cookery school. Is that possible?
-
It would be too expensive for me as of right now. And I do know there are loans and that kind of stuff, but, I would like to be a bit more stable before I try to do any type of schooling. Not to mention I would need my GED before I could do anything in college..

What about some form of apprenticeship, even if informal? Can you find a restaurant (not a fast-food place) where they would be prepared to take you on as a trainee cook? It would be worth moving anywhere for a good place.

I have gone so far as knocking on the back door of a restraunt until the kitchen manager answers... It's a good thing I'm getting fluent in Spanish. Lol.(Courtesy of my love or Hispanic men.)

I think knocking on the back door of a restaurant is what is needed, and you have to be prepared to do it at a lot of places. In the Depression people would keep moving from town to town doing something like that - of course that's very difficult.I don't suppose you know anyone in the business?

If you can travel to Oklahoma a lot of the casinos are hiring and willing to train cooks. It could be the first step on the way to culinary school.

No, sadly I do not, I mean, I am only 18.. I've not been alive or active long enough to gain connections.
