"Considering we've gone 2000 years with a Bible and no one has said "Hey we looked back and this isn't what was written!"
Cooldawg2- I do appreciate the earnestness and good faith of your personal journey. But you have a great deal to learn, and I'm sure you will as you get a little older. The statement you made above is remarkably simplistic. "What was written" has been a subject of endless scholarly debate for many centuries by people of all varieties- believers, non-believers, biblical scholars, monastic clergy, etc., etc. There are innnumerable problems in figuring that out, including the different ancient texts that may contradict each other and the enormous problem of translation of archaic languages. Believe me, it is not as simple as finding one original source. There is no such thing.

Proof God Exists
-
It's the innumerable problems with the translations and just the whole Creation vs Evolution debate which leads me to believe that God intended for this. He wanted us to use our faith to push through all of that and strive for his love.
-
I actually agree with you entirely. Belief is entirely about faith. There is no intellectual proof or disproof of the existence of god.

I know there's flaws with this point but I'm gonna say it anywayWhy can't atheists just believe in God? There's no harm in it and you can't go wrong especially when you die. You either go to heaven or you cease to exist. End of story.

Take a look at the link above. I think you'll find it interesting.

incredibly offensive? wow

Why can't Christians just believe in the lack of a superior being? Why can't Jews just believe in Jesus? There's no harm in it and you can't go wrong especially when you die. What if you go to Hell because it's not really the Christian God, but a different one who does not like those who believe in the Christian God? And what if we are instead reincarnated? If there are flaws in a point you want to make, either provide counter-arguments to the true nature of those flaws or don't say it. What is the point of saying it otherwise? Edit: beaten to some of my points.

I thought you didn't want to force your faith on anyone and yet you say "looking for proofs to show to Atheists".Watch what you're saying. I completely agree with Albeit.

Well apparently you didn't read in my post where I said IT WAS FLAWED.
And I can't take blame for what mislead Christians did in the past, because then you are completely oblivious to what the radical muslims are doing in the Middle East. It's like a car bomb a day. So all religions are open to radicals. The religion cannot be taken directly responsible for the radicals. Radicals are radicals.
They say there's going to be 75 virgins in Heaven. Well after you've had sex with all 75, what's left?

I think if you were to look at all the religions in the world you'd notice that some of them are absurd while the main ones that serve as valid are Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. That is because they resemble eachother except one of them is wrong. "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves." Matthew 7:15. Things that make you go hmmmm? When it just so happens that 500 years from then we get Muhammad who preaches a good word, a word of peace. Was he really about peace or was he the devil reincarnated to deter people away from Christ? We don't know that. That is just my viewpoint. Don't get mad at me, it's just the way I see things, with some influence from my dad and some influence from 9/11.

I agree. Some comedian- I can't remember who- used to do a really funny bit about that. It was something along the lines of "couldn't they have given me at least one non-virgin."

Why is it hard to believe other religions have an equal chance of being as "valid"? You say others look absurd. I find it absurd that a man who claims to be the son of God could do impossible things, like walk on water.

Hahaha, I have vague memories of that guy. I'm gonna look it up.

Cooldawg2, don't you think it's kind of dangerous that so many Americans have the wrong beliefs (Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, animist, atheist, etc.)? This might displease God and invite another awful terrorist attack.I think it would be better for everyone if we did put more pressure on the non-Christians to get in line. Christianity should certainly be taught in all schools, and the non-Christian religious schools should be closed. It could save the eternal souls of a lot of people with wrong ideas. There is no question that God exists, or that Christianity, as described in the holy bible, is correct.
-
Just when I thought this couldn't turn any uglier...
-
Why 11 men chose death over admitting that Christ didn't rise from the dead? Why did Islam become so corrupted right when Muhammad died yet it took over 1000 years after Christ died for Christianity to break up into different sectors.I am one to say which religions are valid because two of the three religions I named are the most practiced religions in the world. So obviously somethings clicking.

Well considering any literate human being could go through the old testament in a matter of hours when there are summaries for each book why is that so hard to believe that I did.
If I can sign onto a website then I think I can read through page long summaries of each book in the old testament in under a day.
-
So, a religion is vaild only if it's popular?
Now THAT'S absurd!
