Which illegal drugs are physically addictive?
-
Depends if we are talking physical addiction, or psychological addictionThe physically addictive ones are the opiates (opium, morphine, heroin), barbiturates (secanol etc-very rare these days) and benzodiazapanes (valium etc) and alcoholA LOT of other substances, cocaine, crystal meth, ecstacy and marijuana have powerfull psychologically addictive reactions which can be as troublesome as physical addiction.

Surprisingly, fewer "drugs" are physically addictive as you might think. Nicotine is the most addictive known substance. Caffeine is addictive. Heroin and all of the opiate based prescription drugs are whether they made from opium or synthesized. Alcohol is physically addictive but not as much as caffeine or nicotine. Cocaine, meth, marijuana, special k, ecstasy are considered more of a psychological addiction. If someone has been using a drug for a long time and stops, the psychological withdrawal has a physical effect on the body. In most cases, anxiety, depression, irritability and fatigue are the symptoms. Generally speaking, the "harder" the drug, the harder the withdrawal. Except for alcohol, nicotine and caffeine. The reason why nicotine is considered the most addictive is that it only requires a small amount of the drug for the body to become physically dependent. Ever have a caffeine withdrawal headache? That is physical addiction. Having said that, I am not condoning nor minimalizing withdrawal. And I am not saying don't drink coffee. Or alcohol in moderation. In some cases, it is easier to step down. This is especially true for heroin and alcohol. To stop suddenly can cause death if the addict has been using for a long time. There is a lot of good information and links available at http://www.camh.netSteve

I agree Meth,Heroin and cocaine make us addictive in that drug. Any drug if we take in less amount it is good for the health. It does not affect the health and gives good freshness to our body. If the dose is higher it is bad to the health and cause serious damage to the humans.
