Well where are these transitional species? How does weather affect these species? If they couldn't survive than evolution could not have happened because you can't jump from one species to another. And yes we haven't unearthed every fossil ever, but due to the amount of organisms and time to reproduce they had, we should have seen and unearthed a lot more than we have. I seem to think that archaeopteryx was a rare case that didn't succeed.

There would be a long period of time that they could survive until the original species is a completely different species, and there may still have been some transitional species. However, since the Earth is constantly changing over very very long periods of time, a lot of the ones in the middle may not have been suited well. In fact, species past the survivor may have died off as well. And are you in expert in fossils? I highly doubt it. So you don't know what exact requirements are required to keep fossils preserved. There are many things that would cause fossils to be destroyed. Animals digging through the fossil, water breaking up the rock and other means of destroying the rock, etc. Also, have you ever wondered why oil and such are called fossil fuels? They were created from bio matter, which would greatly cut into the amount of fossils that could be found. Understanding this only takes a bit of knowledge and logic.

you've yet to answer my question, amigo.

either position you choose requires a big leap of faith. I'm taking the side that gives me an afterlife.
