I am driving myself nuts with the effing peircing and am litterally at my wits end!I had my tragus peirced about 1 year and 2 weeks ago now. The peircer had a really hard time peircing it and caused alot of trama to the area. Not long after I had it peirced it developed a fugly red bump for all to see. At one time I also had one on the inside of my ear that went away. I've been putting up with it because I was sure it would go away eventually.I had a peircer look at it afer about 5 months who told me that I had the bump becuase it was peirced with a ring so she changed it to a libret bar and sent me on my way and assured me all would be well.I don't sleep directly on it, I have not touched or bumped the effing thing for the last 2 weeks before today, I can't be allergic to the metal because I have other peircings with the same metal that healed perfectly. It's not infected, it just has a bump.I've read using a drop of tea tree usually drys it up and makes it heal, although others say that you should always dilute tea tree oil etc etc.I don't want to have to take it out, I really want to keep this peircing because I would love it if it wasn't such a bastard to me. I'm worred that if I take it out the bump will still be there or it will scar badly since it's been so long.I was seconds away from going nuts and cuting the #@%&ing thing off with my nail sisors ( which I did before when the bump inside my ear drove me over the edge last time.....tho it did heal bump free, so it may be an option).I'm going to go for the drop of tea tree oil and trying to not touch or bump the stupid thing aproch but if any one has a magic cure please tell me because this thing is driving me nuts.

that doesn't sound too safe, but if it works for you then go for it. but i wouldnt advise it. you're best bet is to always go to a sanitized store for it.you're mouth is actually the most bacteria-ridden place in the body.

Get yourself to a doc. Tea Tree oil does a good job at sanitizing, and may make it numb for a bit,(after the initial burn like hell sensation) but something to clear out the infection should work. Bactriban...I think is one of the topical antibiotics that kills staph also. But a physician will know better.

I've tryed anti biotic creams on it and they havn't worked. Also, this type of "bump" is a form of scarring from the peircing being agrivated, it's definatly not an infected peircing as it dosn't hurt, it dosn't feel hot, doesn't smell weird, no puss.I can't really see what a doctor would tell me except "Take it out or try not to bump it. That will be $30 thanks"

Good news, a combo of tea tree oil and dry heat packs on the peircing seems to be working well, after only a few days the bump was gone. The area is still a tad swollen and is going through healing, scabbing and pealing phases, which im sure is good.Hope this works in the long run because I really want this peircing. I have dreams some day that I can change the jewlery back to my lil cute tichy sparkly bar.....one day
