Well, I'm fairly active, however, as of lately, I haven't been active very much at all. I've gained about 5 pounds, and my pants don't fit as well as I like them to (and I don't have money for new pants). Exercise is my money saver here, so today, I played a round of golf with my buddies (9 holes) and raced the cart instead of riding in it. (I didn't carry my clubs)We finished around 9, had dinner, and by 10 I was home. Well by about the time I went to bed, around 1-ish, I couldn't sleep because my knees seems a little painful. At this point, they actually hurt quite a lot. It's a dull pain inside my knee, kind of like there's a shooring marble behind my patella in each knee. it doesn't make more pain when I flex the joint, it just hurts in general. I think they may be a little swollen. This used to happen a lot when I was growing up, mostly around 5th to 10th grade, and I figured it was just growing pains. It hurt when I was in the military sometimes too, but never predictably, so I didn't do anything about it.It seems to come and go randomly, and I can't make a connection between biometric pressure and the pain either, so I have no idea what's happening. Sometimes it happens after exercise, sometimes not. Sometimes just standing all day.Any Ideas? I'm 19, and there's some spotted history in my family of early 20s growth spurts, you think it might just be that I"m growing a bit more? (that would be amazing since I'm only 5'7")

i get a weird pain too!! in my left knee. its like.. under the knee cap. and its a "dull, blunt" pain. it SUCKS. ive lost some sleep from it because its so annoying. its not excruciating, but its there to annoy you, right? when i sleep now, i have a body pillow under my blankets that i rest my leg on, so theres no pressure on my legs when ones on top of the other. maybe you could try that? sometimes i go days without the pain, other times it hits me. like if im cramped up while im sitting, or on my legs too much. but, i dont seem to be having as many problems now since ive been losing weight but i dont think 5 pounds would cause such an issue.

Basically i think it
s because of all the exercise you did trying to lose those 5 pounds and maybe you should try waliking less.Sleeping with a pillow under your knee is another thing also, but have you thought about the fact that you may have athritis. You
re not to young because i have it in my knees and am almost 17.It hurts like hell i bet,so get it checked and in the mean time get doped up on aleve( :just kidding) -
sleep gets rid of it fine, but it just seems to happen haphazardly, and only when I've been active. However, not every time I'm active, just random ones.

No thoughts?

I had this issue when I was about 15.. apparently what I had was called osgood schlatters disease osgood schlatters

It seems to sound awful close. So I might still be growing then?Good, because I'm short and hate it :P

Sounds like it to me - the doctor told me it could carry on until well into your twenties, fortunately mine stopped when I was 18 all they told me to do was wear a knee support and take ibuprofen if it got too bad.
