Don't you know what it does to flavor!?I saw a chance to make a funny of an admin :-)

Doesn't mean that there aren't other topics that are controversial, though.
-
well most other topics besides religion and politics can be resolved for the most part. religion and politics are vicious circle arguments as I've come to realize.

They don't have to be vicious, having a forum where people of different backgrounds/faiths, can come together to engage in open discussion is a beautiful thing. I've come to realize through personal experiences (not in this forum) that the viciousness is caused by Personal Attacks; One person who always feels that they are right.

Well what I mean is that, the arguments don't really go anywhere. No one changes in the end, it's just a mash together of resentment and disagreements. Whereas other topics can be discussed civilly and people change their opinions and gain things so the arguments are fun.

It is controversial, if you're a Catholic. Or an aid worker in south-Saharan Africa. Or if you have a government run by a religious fundamentalist. In fact with the latter, its becomes extraordinarily controversial if you ask people to give their young daughters a vaccination that will prevent pelvic cancer.
-
I've seen people change their opinions from political and religious arguments.Didn't you change your opinion on evolution recently in part because of a thread here on religion?
-
yeah I read a book. I can't really trust anyone here on anything scientific. Some of them about religion, but that's because it makes sense to me when I accept it. Religion and science are completely different. Because when you say something about something scientific people want/need you to back it up with evidence before they accept it. At least some people do. With religion, it runs purely on faith and you can add science and fit it to your beliefs which is what I do sometimes.
-
this is not @ cooldawg2...This thread is so true because I am super sore from these new workouts! (Arena Football here I come)
-
But did you read that book in part because of the discussions here? That's what I was implying.
-
No I read it on my own time.
-
Im with ya Jon! The treadmill has been KILLING ME!
-
Would you trust what we said if we gave references at the end of all our posts? I'd be more than happy to do so for you if it in any way helped sustain a civil debate.
-
LOL yeah.I am gonna have to hurt my buddy. My diet has to changed too, again.
-
Sure, but I think what we should do is keep it to PM's. You do realize you can have like 3 or 4-way discussions that aren't public.

Not "asked"..."required". (That was the original proposition.) "Required" as in "you have no choice, you will do what we say"...the beginning of a precidence. It would set warning bells off in the heads of most folks who haven't already buried it in the sand. Unless such a desease can be proven to by communicable, there are no grounds for forcing medical treatment on anybody...at least not in this country.Now...please continue.
