Have a broken/fractured nose without knowing it?Last Wednesday or so i was boxing with some friends. It was my first time boxing. Well anyways i ended up getting punched in the nose and getting a bloody nose. It didn't hurt a lot but it bleed, and its very hard for me to get a bloody nose. It was only a few drops though. My nose was swollen for about two or three days, and it hurt when i touched it. I also couldn't breathe right it felt stuffed up probably because it was swollen. So its been almost a week and my nose is better but i feel some slight pain when i push on my nose, and i still have a stuffy nose. But the thing is i got a cold like right after the swelling went down, and i'm not sure if my nose is stuffed up because of the cold or because when i got punched. So basically my question is, could i have a fractured nose or a broken nose without knowing it? My nose looks the same, not crooked or anything, and it doesn't hurt terribly, but i heard from this guy that he had a broken nose and didn't know it until he got x-rayed, so idk. Or maybe i broke my cartilage, because i just noticed that the cartilage that divides my two nostril it bends more one way and the other way it doesn't bend at all. So i'm not sure what's wrong.

Is it possible to..
-
A broken nose means the cartilage is damaged, because there's no bone there. It's quite possible that has happened, and it would be good to get it looked at.

Well up towards the bridge there is bone which can break.

Im sure it is POSSIBLE, you can never know until you get it checked out. Ive gotten bloody noses sparring before (2, i rarely bleed) and have had similar issues (swollen, hurt, and even a bump on the bridge) and it healed up fine and was not broken.Im sure your fine, it doesnt sound too bad. Ive sparred with MMA-training gloves which are literally probably 2oz gloves if that (and boxing are usually 12-16oz) and ive had someone standing over me dropping bombs on my face and i took one right on the nose and it bled forever and hurt pretty bad but was not broken. I would venture to say your fine, but you cant know for sure until you get checked out.And the stuffiness is from the cold.

could be a deviated septum.
you'd need surgery for that though.
-
When you have a deviated septum doesn't your nose have to be crooked? I'm pretty sure deviated means like turned/crooked.
-
it's a displacement of the nasal septum inside your nose. so your nose most likely wouldn't look crooked. look it up on google.

yep i got to go with cooldawg2 on this one because its the most logical thing that could happen but you could have a sinus infection or sothing like that my aunt had one and it led to a devited septom so you might want to go to the DR. and the surgery doesnt take a long time to
