So have you guys boarded up windows? My dad had a window blown out by a hurricane in Florida north of Miami a few years ago.. He was up on the 12th floor and facing the ocean.. Some flying debris I would imagine.I would imagine in would be worse the lower you are.

Hurricane Ike

Actually, we went to get plywood and they were all out, hard to believe, eh?Hahaha, I'm sure we will think of something though... Any suggestions?
-
No shit!!! LOL... Little to late for that.Go steal it from some neighbor who boarded up and left. LOL.. Just kidding.
-
Hahaha, mm, I'm good...Prolly just move all my expensive shit into the stairwell... That way if the windows do break, they won't become flying objects, and if it floods they won't be ruined by that, I sense the need for use of duck tape.
-
I doubt duct tape will do a whole lot of good if some object comes flying at it.
-
Take care and hunker down.
-
definetly going to be keeping him and his family in my thoughts.I woke up this morning and put CNN on right away.

I'm sure you still have power out as Houston got slammed pretty hard. It's coming towards us but they say it sould downgrade to a TD just before we get slammed. It's gonna hit what Katie Lou lives. it will still be a catagory 1 when Tyler gets hit. I've left her several messages but have not heard anything. I told her she could hunkerdown over here, but still nothing.. Say a prayer for her.
We have very strong winds about 30 mps they say from the east. and the bands of rain waves come thru about every 20 minutes. they said it should be gone by 11pm it will be hitting Texarkana -
We JUST got power back, like, after 20 hours of no power... AC feels amazing... We have no damage to our house or yard, but other people around here were not so lucky... Mm, some of our neighbors Garage doors were ripped down... Uhh... Trees uprooted and split in half, it was scary, I was awake through the entire thing...
-
That's very good news that you're all right!
-
Well, it wasn't an easy ride. >.>;
It didn't even start raining until like, 2-3am... The wind was horrible, shook everything in my house with it being outside. Transformers blowing outside, sounding like the War of the Worlds tripod blaster things, and the greenish blue light from the blowing didn't help any with my imagination. XD -
so glad to hear from you.

I've been thinking about you today. With all the stuff you've got going on down there, It's pretty stellar of you to check in and let us know how you're doing.Glad you're well.

glad all is wellso, why the fuck is gas so expensive here? The price of oil is plinging but a little huricane threatens the gulf and I get screwerd at the pump. We don't even get oil from the gulf here!!
-
where do you live? It hit us yesterday afternoon. not too much damage around here but we did get really strong wind andabout 4 inches of rain. we lost power for about 6 hours but today it's a sunny day and it's like he never blew thruI hope your okay... send me a pm
-
well I'm glad youre okay... I was suppose to hit us much harder but it went your way instead....
-
Yeah, it was kinda fun... But omg, NO stores are open yet, well, I take that back, a couple are, but most aren't... I went to target yesterday to try to buy a phone charger(car charger for all Nokia models) and I was 5 dollars short, I lent money to my brother 2 days previous... And... I was pissed, because I don't have half my numbers, and I would like to be bored no longer. Basically, I walked up there, called mother to come get me, she wouldn't I walk home, 1 hour 30 minute walk... Especially with all the craziness on the roads, because street lights are out, still, I go back up to Target with my step dad 15 minutes after I get home and Target is CLOSED, I was like... 'Wtf?'
-
I have not been watching the news, even though i prolly should be... I do know however that my neighbors were being stupid during the storm... Me and my brother kept hearing laughing coming from outside, it was them outside in their yard running around in circles. Stupid..
