I've been on microgynon 30 for about 5 months after my last pill was apparently too weak and I was still ovulating. However, I've also been taking all sorts of antibiotics which I was warned might reduce the effectiveness of the pill though we didn't use any extra precautions. About 5 weeks ago I went to the doctor about nausea and dizzy spells and she advised I took a pregnancy test but I'm sure I took it a few days too early and got a negative result. I got some light pink spotting a few days later. A few days after that I got the heaviest bleed I have ever experinced. This month I've been putting on incredable amounts of weight, going from a size 8 to a 12 in little over a month, which is quite an achievement for someone who struggles to put on any weight at all. I came off my pill on Friday and was due to come on yesterday. Today I had a teeny bit of brown blood that would just about warrent the use of a panty liner and my cervix is now closed. The sickness and dizzy spells still persist. To the question, can you get a withdrawal bleed when you come off your pill if you're pregnant? Is there reason to buy another HPT after this bleed? What else could justify me putting on such epic amounts of weight so suddenly??

Withdrawal bleed while pregnant?

I doubt you'd have this type of weight gain from pregnancy anyway. There's something else going on. See a doctor again.

yeah. i would definetly go back and see your doctor.

It sounds like normal side effects to me. Nausea, dizziness, breakthrough bleeding, weight gain....are all common with birth control pills. One of my girlfriends went up 4 pants sizes in two months when she started getting the shot. I'll look up the side effects for you. Here you go: http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100001653.html Scroll down to 'Side Effects'. All of your extra weight may just be water retention. Ask your doctor if you are really worried. Personally, I wouldn't want to take a pill that made me feel sick. I would ask to be put on another pill.
