Is that really what you hear in this video??http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVFWahLTdUoHearing that really freaked me out. Because I've had 3 dreams thus far since last monday of Obama being assassinated. And it scares the crap out of me. I pray this doesn't happen. But every time I see him giving a speech I feel like a bullet is just going to come flying out of nowhere and through him. I get so sick to my stomach when I think about it.
-
"Kill him"??
-
I don't hear it. But even if someone said it, it doesn't mean they would actually do it.Any US President runs the risk of being shot, because there are a lot of people around with guns and strong opinions. But it doesn't happen very often - most survive their terms.
-
You actually hear "Kill him"? Come on.. are you serious?
-
I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen. This is America afterall.
and yes I do hear it? Why is that such a shock?
-
Then you are imagining it. It's not there. more fear-mongering.
-
right..
-
What 'eligible said. Even if someone said it, it's not likely they'd have the balls to do it.
-
I listened to it 10x over.. I never hear the word kill.
-
This is America. We have some of the worse crimes. I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen unfortunately, because people are that sick.I listened to it over and over and it continues to sound like it. I asked a couple of friends without even telling them what it was about (title whatever) and they said they heard it. So I guess it varies.
-
The only real thing that is heard is "Terrorist"... the rest is a bunch of crowd noise and you hear "Kill him" because you want to hear that..So you play this to someone and J: "Listen to this"OP: "That's BS calling him a terrorist"J: "Did you hear "kill him"?"OP: "Wait, play it again!"J: "Listen right after someone says "Terrorist""OP: "Oooohhh yeah it does sound like it"
-
oh em gee you know me like so well because that's like exactly what I did like.. totally!! hyuck!yup. I'm fed up with the mccrazies at this point.

What I think you (and perhaps others) should at least try and understand is that there really aren't as many pro-McCain folks out there as you seem to think. However, there are a lot of folks out there who are dead set against somebody like Obama ever becoming president. A vote for McCain is often a vote against Obama more than anything else. McCain isn't really a true conservative...but next to Obama he looks like a raging neo-con. That says more about Obama than it says about McCain, though. McCain is really somewhere near the middle of the road. Look at the teachings of ACORN and you'll have a very good idea of what Obama is really all about. As for killing, I think the real threat against Obama comes from folks who are against a black man becoming president rather than Obama personally. That's where such a threat comes from more than anyplace else, I think. I also think it is a real threat. Some folks still harbor old racist ideas...on both sides of the issue.

This incident had already been reported in the news.http://news.aol.com/political-machine/20...7923x1200682659Here is an article with some very interesting information and video clips relating to this subject. There is no doubt that Palin's and McCain's despicable turn to the dark side is energizing the crazies.

I get the impression this is a media beat-up. One person in a crowd of thousands possibly said "kill him", and the context suggests if he did he was probably referring to Ayers, not Obama.
-
So you're saying that you can hear those words in that YouTube clip?
-
I think you're missing the larger point. I didn't place that link to debate the "kill him" remark. It's the crowd of thousands buying into this insane rhetoric of Obama the secret dangerous terrorist, Muslim extremist, close pal and confidant of a terrorist bomber, etc. that is more important. This kind of thing is a mainstay of American politics- the way some right wingers talk to the general public and the way they talk with crowds of true believers. It's extremely dangerous. This wasn't a one time event. Palin is doing this kind of thing on a daily basis. And it is exactly the kind of rhetoric that can inspire the worst lunatics to the worst actions.
-
Except...under all your partisan rhetoric you, and many others, refuse to honestly ask if there's anything to those charges. What scares me more than one man with possible ties to unrepentant terrorists being president is a nation full of people who would mindlessly elect anyone into the White House, regardless of associations or records, as long as the terrible horrible no good bad Republican doesn't win.

Demagoguery is a common problem with democracy - so many people prefer a simple catchphrase to complexity, even though simple answers are practically always wrong. I had a teacher once who had a standard sequence of types of government, and democracy, in his opinion, always transitioned into mob rule. I don't think he was right, but it's always a danger.
The only reason for having democracy is as a guard against dictatorship by the very bad. It rarely produces very good leaders. If you consider the Presidents of the United States over its history, for most of them it's hard to imagine that out of the whole country they were the best available for the job.

That's what I was getting at. But evidently "hyuck hyuck" I'm imagining it because I friggin hate Republicans. They are everywhere and I can't escape them. They use their "disliking of Obama" as a coverup for their blatant racism. But it's alright. Like I said. This is America. One of the most racist countries in the world. I kind of expected different from on here since I've been getting and seeing so much abuse at school and work. I wish McCrazy would just get into office just to shut the McCaniacs up. I swear I'm losing my mind. One more person make a racial insult and I'm going to lose it.I wonder how in the world someone can get away with saying "I don't want no N!gger terrorist running my country" but you make ONE itty bitty comment about the almighty infallible McCain you get jumped on like you beat someone's mama. McCain can do no wrong. All hail McCain.Edit:I've had a rough weak so don't mind the ranting. Just tired of the prejudice insects that keep crawling out of the woodwork. And this sparked a fury.
