In no particular order:- Things We Said Today- Paperback Writer (great guitar riff by Paul)- Here Comes the Sun (nice "feel-good" song)There a lot of others I like...decent musicians, great song-writers.

Here Comes the Sun..isn't it just! I love listening to it, puts an even bigger smile on my face! I prefer the Nina Simone version though.smiles

1 - All You Need Is Love2 - Come Together3 - Yesterday

No lovers of the psychedelic and the dark, like Strawberry Fields, A Day in the Life, I Am the Walrus, or Glass Onion?
-
I always liked "Day in the Life"...but I think they lost something when they got to the psychodelic era. They also got into less than stellar sounding equipment (namely, their amplifiers). Their manager always pushed the latest "Vox creation" on them...which they usually turned around and used. In the psychodelic era, solid-state pre-amps were showing up in Vox amps. Sometimes they got good sounds out of them (like "Paperback Writer")...but more often than not it sounded less than stellar.

- Let It Be2. A Day In the Life3. Eleanor Rigby

Haha.. its funny. I read through this thread and look at all the songs you guys have mentioned and I think of how much I love them all!
-
Well were asked for our top 3, if I was to list my favourite Beatles songs then the list would have expanded to Let It Be, I Am The Walrus, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, Eleanor Rigby, I Want To Hold Your Hand, Paperback Writer, Penny Lane and of course, Hey Jude.
-
Nope, can't do it, I just can't name just three. I love so many of those people have already saidMy current ring tone, which I always come back to after a breif change, is Yellow Submarine

I'll be the odd man out here.
Fuck the Beatles. I'm not saying most of the songs named here aren't great but after hearing them for the ten-trillionth time and listening to some ex-hippy talk about what the fuck they we're doin' when that song came out, I've had enough. I mean how many fuckin' times can you listen to Strawberry Fields Forever and here the accompanying erroneous "needle track story" from some dumbass who doesn't know what the fuck their talkin' about. I mean give me a fuckin' break or give me Slipknot or hell anything I haven't heard over and over and over and over ad nauseam.
Now having given this thread the appropriate tirade it deserves, yes I'll fuckin' stop my flippin' around on the radio when I come upon a good Beatles song... as long as it's one I didn't hear just three minutes before hand.
-
three minutes before hand? Wow.. I usually have to play my ipod in my car to here the beatles.Slipknot? I'd rather kill myself slowly than listen to 30 seconds of one of their songs.

Move to Oklahoma where your choises on the radio are either country (yuck, puke, ewww) or rock for old people, you'll get to here the Beatles all the damn time. One radio station even has Breakfast with the Beatles every fuckin' morning.

Here ya go.

That's why there is absolutely no way I could live down here without my XM.As for the Beatles, It's not hard for me to pick 3 songs I really like, but I still contend they're overrated. Not their influence or success. Those things can't be denied. But I don't think, at it's core, the music is as good as the hype or the history. There's better stuff out there.

I love Baby it's you.
